the color is real, and that's what it looks like in real life (fake/too nice?) so live with it

nope, just use the 800x600 one that is posted plz (not exactly sure of how much of a benefit it would be to use the full size pic since in the end you are going to resize it to 800x600 anyways.....mods you added might look even worse once you resize it down rather than workign in 800x600 originally..)

Like on 86 max's chop.....is that not changing the background. I don't mean to be a pest but I added a reflection in mine but he added parts that were never seen before. So what is the right way not to change the background. If you make your car a convertible (which is tight..I must say 8)) Are you not changing the background? Adding a reflection I think is minnimal compared to actualy adding to the background.

Totaly frustrated.....

I am re-doing my chop as it was saved with the reflection in it.

As for the background, I didn't intend to alter it in any way, just made it look like what it would if the car was a convertible. Theoretically, it's the same as adding a spoiler, you're taking away from the background, so it is altered. Anyways, I guess we'll just wait from word from nismodrifter to see if it's ok.

yeh I thought it was pretty understandable guys, changes made for lowering/convertible/body mods are fine since you are just making a continutation of the background (ie..with a convertible he made it so that the yellow bars continue downwards...) but with ryoslides entry he actually ADDED something completely different to the background......so that's why I removed your entry Ryoslide

86max: nice entry.....but remember that posting up what you have right now will just make people work harder on theirs and possibly make crazier entries than you :D

btw...ryoslide...can't you just simply cut the floor from the original pic and paste it on top of the reflection in your pic? should be pretty easy?

not at home right now so don't have pshop at the moment (can't tell you exactly what to do off the top of my head..)

once you have made the pattern go edit-->define pattern
never had a problem doing that, PM me with details if that doesn't work...

this is my work in progress and my first chop that isnt a toon and i kinda want to try my hand at the contest. The problem i am running into is how to change the color of the car and how to make an additon of a body kit or lights. So far all i have is rims and have found myself lost in what to do next or how to get there.

Switchblade, you may want to scale/skew your rims a bit. The rear wheel looks a little wide/flat. :)

@ hyperwhite: awesome job with that carbon fiber dude, very clean

@switchblade: this is what i do to change color...
1) select desired parts of car to be colored
2) use hue/saturation and set saturation all the way to the left
3) use color balance and adjust bars till u get the desired color

Pretty basic instructions, if you want more detail, look for a tutorial on the web.:thumbsup:

just to clarify for all the new contestants who haven't been entering these contests forever:

- when I say "do not change the background" it means essentially don't ADD anything to the picture (foreground and/or background and/or side ground or whatever....) that has nothing to do with the car. The purpose of this is to place emphasis on the modifications of the CAR and not the rest of the picture.
Changes such as filling in the background because you lowered the car/did a convertible conversion and stuff like that is fine, as is adding like slight underglow lights or something of that nature but essentially everything on your pic should look almost exactly like the original picture EXCEPT FOR YOUR CAR.
Ie, if you lower the car you want to make it look like the original as close as possible by filling in the empty spaces of the abckground.

No i just looked up some rims from enkei's site and played with them a bit to get them to work. It was NFSU that started my obssesion with enkei rims :rofl:
