The issue involves defective inflator and propellent devices that may deploy improperly in the event of a crash, shooting metal fragments into vehicle occupants. More than 7 million vehicles are potentially affected in the United States.

I've been following it and in Japan, Takata has already admitted fault and publicly bowed in the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

I guess we wait for official responses from manufcaturers.

A recall campaign has been on going for a while. I have a letter from BMW Canada to go in an replace my passenger side airbag. Will go when next oil change is due :rofl:

Also got a recall letter for the Tundra 1 week after I bought it for a curtain side airbag garnish cover problem, unrelated to this one. That one will also wait for next service haha.

Got my recall notice 2 months ago. Not gonna take mine in till after winter is over. No biggie. Just sit in the rear seats
