^ thats how most of these modern cars are being stolen - people leave them running in the cold and walk away.

They cover it to my knowledge but they are free to charge you whatever they please after the fact when you renew.

"Guy who leaves key in car while running with doors unlocked; Boy do we have coverage for you!"

Similar to the "18 year old male driving a brand new car with 300 HP, Boy do we have coverage for you!" scenario.

Would like to hear Masked Bandits take?

My wifes Jeep was stolen once and it has a chipped key. But it didn't stop the thief from breaking into the back of the store she worked at snatch a purse (Containing the keys) and go outside and drive away in it.

That's awesome. Not sure how many people will understand the reference based on the picture....

Chipped keys are simply linked to the ECU. It's fairly easy for someone to swap the ECU on these cars, often with a hacked ECU, which allows the use of a non-chipped key.

I could see someone doing all that for higher end car, but not for a tsx.
Im guessing maybe he left it running and some hobo jumped in and took it for a drive

Even if he doesn't, you can go deliver some street justice when you see him next spring. :poosie:

Surprisingly, yes it's still covered with no future problems obtaining insurance. No adverse rate hikes either.

Why not smash the window and take the running car anyways? :nut:

How would the insurance company ever know it was left running? Maybe that's why they just cover it regardless. That being said, I guess theft is still theft no matter how easy you make it for thieves.

If they recover the car with the key in it, or no smashed ignition etc

Its almost as if stealing a car is, shockingly, stealing a car.
