I will never understand art prices. Something so ambiguously priced, easily copied, and with fakes everywhere that are as good as the originals (which in this case could be done by letting a toddler loose with a piece of chalk). Not saying it's wrong to be into Art, but I'll never understand it haha.

1) Get drunk and acquire art supplies
2) Play drinking games while marking up a canvas
3) Make up some elaborate bullshit story about feelings connected to the picture
4).....
5) Profit.

Art.

Haha, I can't help but think it's all some kind of epic inside joke among artists. The longest of cons.

Not quite, but close.

The longest con is astrology.

inflation. Give the rich a trillion dollars they're not going to by 100 more loves of bread, so the prices of every day goods don't inflate as much, but when it comes time to dump their excess cash, it's going to be stocks, real estate and art. Funny how those money sinks have inflated pretty much in line with the amount of money printing done by central banks around the world. Just wait until velocity picks up and all that paper starts to trickle into lower part of the economy. Then you'll get your $1000 loaf of bread. That's all the high end art market is, a money sink for the uber rich (for those that didn't already know this)

Some of us know this.

Now, what do we do about it?

beyond group buy on a piece of art at the next auction? 100,000 get you 1 share. 100 shares sold will let us buy a 10,000,000 painting. Not bad :dunno: We'll sell it next year for 30 mill :p
