I'm looking to book a chalet/cabin near the mountains for a New Years Ski Trip (Dec. 29-2 roughly). Ideally in the Banff/Lake Louise Area. There are plenty of Google sources and sites I can check out, but I figured if there are any solid choices from the Beyond, I'll start here and save some time.

Not too picky on criteria, except we'd like it to be closer to the hills (maybe 10-15 min drive) and it also must sleep 12-15, which is the challenging part. There are a couple of options I found on Kijiji as well, which I'm considering.

Any info would help. Thanks!

Problem I find on VRBO is that over things like New Years there are a lot of minimum stays of greater than 5 nights.

I was looking at prices for whitefish in Montana if you are willing and its quite affordable.

They have an 85 per day all in promotion right now :dunno:

I assume that's more of a hotel room style but gives you an idea.

Honestly for Banff/lake louise that time of year for that many people your going to have a hard time finding something and it's going to cost a fortune. I worked at the Banff Springs for 9 years and everyone hikes their rates this time of year.

A few I can think of but not likely going to work for a group that large unless you book a few cabins.

Baker Creek Chalets
Storm Mountain Lodge
Tunnel Mountain Resort
Post Hotel and Spa

You would have better luck in a resort like Big White or SunPeaks, even Fernie or Kimberly where they have a whole village of accommodations on the ski hill.

I have heard the same thing. Did a zip line tour there last summer and was great. Now the guys want to go for a ski weekend.

It really isn't that far.

You're pretty much SOL if you wanna find a house or chalet that big right now and around the banff area.

If youre willing to go further, Whitefish is about 5 hours away and is totally worth it. Theres also a couple towns that are close to whitefish so dont focus just on whitefish for stays. Check out VRBO and im sure you find something there.

It willl be near impossible to find this at this time...... too late man!

You may get lucky, check AriBNB or VRBO like said above... or call one of the numbers on the ski websites, they usually have hookups.

Yeah it's pretty late in the game now to get really big ski in ski out type places you have to book the January or February before. Fernie is one other option that I don't think has been mentioned who know you might still get lucky

Lush Properties at Kicking Horse. Worth the extra 45 min drive
