So my garage door opener was getting finicky, so I cleaned/lubed and tested the door and tracks, not making it much better.
So I opened up the unit, and found a seriously worn gear. Google says it's an extremely common problem, and the myriad of makes/models (mostly really made by Chamberlain) ALL use the same gear.
Found one on e-bay, should have been here today but no. And last night it quit entirely.

Anyone know where I might find one locally? Didn't see anything online at Home Depot, Lowes etc.

Never mind, found a gear kit at Garage Door Depot off of 58th and 5th SE.

My Google-fu must have been off last Sunday.

Also look into why it started to slip too. Maybe signs of wearing on other parts on the door that are sticky or spring is broken?
Just worth a look if you're already headed to the garage depot. Better 1 trip rather than 2.

Holy shit that gear is thrashed. There is definitely something binding or not spaced properly to cause that damage.

Yeah, that's definitely not normal wear and tear :)

New springs about 2.4 years ago, but while troubleshooting the door feels a bit heavy, so will get the springs adjusted.
