Ok, made Vietnamese noodle bowl at home today...

I didn't think much about it - so Asian family brand fish sauce is not what I'm used to getting at restaurants...

Where do I find a fish sauce more like what I do get at the noodle bowl places?

And... Where do I find a good satay sauce for next time?

Thanks in advance!

Andy

The fish sauce you get at the restaurant isn't straight up fish sauce from a bottle. Its made into the sauce as hampstor posted above called nuoc cham.

Sugar
Water
Vinegar
Fish Sauce (I've been taught to use the 3 Crab Brand)
And add a little sambal olek for zing
Sometimes you can add shredded carrots as well

This sauce is excellent with spring rolls. Soooo gooooot

You're missing garlic and lime, 2 essential ingredients to make it taste 100x better. Optional thai chili's if you want some spiciness.
