I wish cops would beat down jaywalkers here.

Weird shit.

“His memory has deteriorated since the incident, he even admitted it is so,” said Wei Wong, the plaintiff’s son.
He admitted it, must be true. How did he remember his memory before the incident if his memory has deteriorated anyways?

Wong, who only speaks Cantonese and Spanish, did not understand what the cop was saying.
WTF? Cantonese and Spanish?

Isn't memory (ability to remember things) different than memories (things you remember)?

I read this as since the incident where he hit his head, he's having a hard time remembering things. Or possibly when he's trying to recall things, he's not able to (as easily anymore).

Possibly because he's 84 years old, and was in denial anything was wrong with his memory until now.

Oh I don't know if it's legit or not haha - this is the NY Daily News here, and dude's suing for millions so I'm definitely skeptical. I wasn't just commenting on Rage's post and how I interpreted that quote.

Looks like one of the officers is Chinese, but maybe he is an ABC so that might explain them not understanding the guy. Some cops are just brainless when it comes to these things. Wouldn't it be common sense to not beat up a 80-yea rold Chinese guy? It's not like he is a young black male... crap, did I say this aloud?

So glad Uncle Benny didn't have a cane and raise it towards the Officer. It could have been argued it was a weapon and combat stance and possibly resulting him being shot. :guns: :guns:

Maybe he's from Panama? :dunno: The hotel I stayed at in Panama City this past June was smack dab in the middle of Chinatown and I overheard way more Cantonese than Spanish...

I've only been to New York City once (last December), and I really stood out as a tourist by not jaywalking

I'm surprised the cops cared about jaywalking. When the wife and I went there the first thing we noticed was jaywalk anarchy. The cabbies just go through every intersection holding their horn down its so bad. I'm amazed I didn't see anyone die. It's not like one or two either. It was masses of people constantly going against the light.

And all the rubber protection mats people hang on the front and rear of their cars when parked :nut: calgary's worst parker would fit right in.

Ha my wife's grandma is from Venezuela and was the same. Even her name had a "De" added into (for example Ming De Wong). I hear of some South American cities with really big Chinatowns and the biggest Japantown in the world resides in Rio De Janeiro.
