All cash deal, no financing. Thats probably why they let it go for $70 million when asking for $85.

Rockstars spend big, but usually don't make vast lump sums. Most of their asses are owed to the recording studios so that they must deliver over a period of years.

jay-z isnt a businessman. he is a business, man... oh and owns the label... and many other ventures... hasnt been just an entertainer for many, many years

Well... If you are the recording studio then yes you are the one getting all the money.

But as for actual music and/or actor entertainers, they still are mostly in the $10 million per year max range, higher than most pro footballers.

Which means still a solid decade to build up enough to pay for a $70 million mansion.
