is it just me or does it look entirely way too easy to spin out a ferrari/lambo/porsche?

what's the point of owning one if you can't pin it without the back end giving way and you dying?:P

Being a overcast day and winter in the lower mainland I would bet those roads were damp or even wet. I know that part of the highway and it can be miserable to drive when wet/foggy

Well, Dumbass, I don't know from experience but I imagine there's a difference between being ABLE to drive one and KNOWING HOW to drive one.

If you're spending that much cash on a car with that much potential and haven't taken extensive driving classes, you deserve to crash it if you're pushing it.

It was also approximately 7°C Sunday morning when it happened... I somehow doubt he even had all seasons.

Clearly that guy unsettled the car, and caused it to pendulum over.
Snap steering from left to right while accelerating or braking in any car will do that, regardless of tires.

i have concluded after watching the video that the dipshit had exotic car syndrome. Obviously he switched lanes way too quickly with no thought whatsoever to how it would upset the balance of the car............thx asshole for wrecking another really cool car, now there will be 1 less on the road to drool over, how is that fair to the rest of us?:nut:

These people were not from Alberta, this is common place for many high end car owners to register and insure in Alberta, to avoid limitations due to ICBC's strict cash cow requirements.

It has just come to my attention that people seem to be confused as to the "Keep right" practice.

I work with many people who drive QEII who drive in the left lane and stay there until someone approaches from behind. They then move to the right, said vehicle passes, then they move back to the left.

I argued with them about how its supposed to work (yes I know there is no law) and the common practice of staying right until you need to pass someone.

They repeatedly told me that they, nor anyone they know drives it like that. I asked them why they are doing this.

The answer - because the signs say so. The signs on that highway do not say "Keep right except to pass." They say "Slower traffic keep right." Seems to be misinterpreted by drivers as "I'm doing the speed limit or a little over, and I'm passing semis and busses, so I must be in the correct lane."

First time I'm hearing this.

On the other hand, some others said that those in the left lane should not have been there.

We had a 2 hour long debate over this video. Lol, it was great.

Murcielago is last Lambo without advanced traction control. Just good old throttle traction control which can only do so much.

Modern Lambos, like the Huracan, you can only spin it out in Corsa setting.

End of the day, there is only so much computers can do against physics and stupidity or running summer tires in damp 7c weather with 600+hp.

The Viper resides in Edmonton and the Lambro did as well (at least up until being sold recently).

This may be the case, but a large number of higher end cars register and insure in alberta despite living in BC to avoid things like aircare, specific regulations, price, etc.

ICBC has a ridiculous luxury car category for insurance on supercars/luxury cars. The insurance is outrages when in comparison to Alberta. Not to mention, every driver must be registered to operate the vehicle. If the driver is not on the list and there is an accident. The vehicle and or damages are not covered. Before you can insure the car, the person must submit where the vehicle is stored while it's parked at the permanent residence.

You still are required to have the license in your place of residence. And if they find out you have your car insured in another province and you've been issued a license in another province you can be charged with insurance fraud.

Its something that people do that is not legal and if found out they can deny you anything for insurance because of this.

It's crazy indeed. In order to insure his G63, my buddy had demonstrate that his garage was secure and provide waaaay more info than insuring a regular car.

The driver gets a $700 fine and blames his engine for the crash:

"A 27-year-old man is facing $700 in fines and a big hike to his insurance premiums after he totalled his $400,000 Lamborghini Murcielago in a crash on Sunday. The driver told police he lost control when his engine overheated, but dash cam footage shows his car weaving through traffic before the crash."

Update on this one with charges:

http://www.vancouversun.com/life/Alberta+Surrey+charged+after+street+race+involving+destroyed+Lamborghini/10901005/story.html

Alberta, Surrey men charged after street race involving destroyed Lamborghini

METRO VANCOUVER — Two men have been charged for street racing after a Lamborghini was destroyed in a crash in Surrey.

RCMP say 27-year-old Adam Shtay of Edmonton was driving the high-end vehicle that went through a chain-link fence after speeding on a highway.

Sgt. Dale Carr says Shtay was racing against 31-year-old Surrey resident Joshua Dally, who was behind the wheel of a 2013 Dodge Viper last Dec. 22.

He says the vehicles were travelling at speeds of up to 157 kilometres an hour.

Carr says police arrived as firefighters were extinguishing a fire from the Lamborghini and that Shtay and other occupants of his vehicle were standing nearby talking to the driver and passengers from the Viper.

Carr says that if the men are convicted police will try to seize the vehicles and that the 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago in particular will still be valuable for its parts.
