This year I got Mike Tyson's latest book, 2 metronomes (I listen to them while I sleep, work and read. Yes, I know that it's weird), my old lady had an artist from England do a self portrait of myself to hang in my office (yes, I'm self centered), a Townes Van Zandt record and the usual chocolates and treats.

Not as elaborate and expensive as what I usually receive but I much prefer these as they're actually things that I appreciate and want.

So far, it has been my self gifts: GTX970 video card and Samsung U28D590D 4K monitor. A bigger list will appear in this post in about 14 hours when Christmas is done :P

Stocking:

-Wheel of Time box set #3, books 7-9
-Socks
-French press
-Coffee
-Various GC's (movies, books, etc)
-Some lactose free candies
-Tea
-Tea thingy (a tea box type thing, not entirely sure yet)
-Microwave egg poacher thing (nifty!)
-Microwave popcorn popper (as my air popper is dying)

Big gifts were great this year:
-preorder for The Order 1886
-Monoprice USB AMP/DAC for my headset (AKG 712 Pros I got for my Bday)
-Convection toaster oven (as my old one get crap all over it)
-Nexus 6 32GB from WIND Mobile

For my family, the stocking is where you put all the fun gifts, the small gifts, or things that don't feel "major."

My favorite gifts I got so far from the wife were 3 12" LP's. Marshall Mathers 2 LP, Beastie Boys Ill Communication and Dr Dre The Chronic.

Also got a new wrench set, some speakers for the car, a stubby hammer, a t-shirt and a hoodie, all from my wife and kid, they love me lol

Going to the in-laws later for dinner and more presents for the family. My kid got a mass amount of stuff, it's ridiculous, he's into Lego and ninja turtles, so it was an expensive year lol

Tell that to my boss at work. He wears canvas shoes that are covered in comic book print, and he, like me, is an avid comic book collector :P

Our kids idolize him, and compare him to super heroes(esp Batman) all the time. They love buying him things like the mug and shirt.

Btw, I bought him the spiderman pants he is wearing, simply because he is awesome and can pull off the super hero look :poosie:

Make sure you get a good grinder too. Improves it even more.

On the flip side, because I had to make 8 cups this morning I busted out the old percolator, I forgot what great coffee it also makes.

Always on Christmas. Two years ago I had to deal with my mothers water softener blowing a seal and spraying it's water all over the hot water tank and furnace. Complete chaos until I traced the piping and valving.... Always on Christmas Day.

Hopefully you got it figured today.

Not yet. Plan on seeing into it tomorrow. Messed up my back on top of all the rest, sleeping it off with the fireplace on.

I got a can of coffee with the press... I'll go through that and fine tune the brewing before I start to spend any money on grinders and beans :P

I am not the world's biggest coffee connaiseur, I am much more about my tea, but the flavor difference between "mass market" coffee and what the press does is amazing. I have medium roast coffee... but I do like sweeter coffees, if you know of any roasts that are down on the bitter and up on the sweet

Time spent with family.

3 pairs of boxers.

Lovely meals cooked for me.

Massive amounts of calories hammered into my body.

A few opportunities to help others out, and a lingering guilt that I didn't seek out more.

I got a bunch of local stuff from Saskatoon including a shirt and a 1946 map from Hardpressed and Lucky Bastard liquor.

The missus also made me a scrap book of all the trips we've been on together with the last page having tickets to Vegas for my birthday. The trip will be awesome but the best part was that she put time into making the book (especially because she's not artistic at all)
