Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a place they have had a positive experience with for repairing a gas fireplace?

I have an older model Majestic gas fireplace insert (fits in where a woodburning fireplace used to be)...hoping to get some suggestions on who to get to do the repair. Main burners won't ignite...

Thanks!

I've used http://www.barbecuesgalore.ca/ which owns Woods fireplaces. Fixed my issue first try.

So, I just serviced mine myself. Took all the glass off, cleaned it with ceramicbright. Then I pulled all the fake stone etc out, and carefully removed the ember material. I didn't want to crush it. Then I vaccuumed it all up to get out all the dust, and then blew it out with can of compressed air while running the vacuum to pull the dust. Re-assembled it all, added some new ember material, and fired it up. Looks great now.

Oh, and turn the gas/pilot off first eh? Don't burn yourself.

I use Gas Tech. The first time was after I moved into the house I'm in now, he took three hours to clean the fireplace because of all the dust and dog hair.
