Hi all

Im getting another 600 this year and want to know your thoughts

Im looking at 3 different bikes and cant decide which way to go.

1. 2007 Honda CBR600RR 11,000 km

2. 2008 Yamaha R6 14,000 KM

3. 2007 Suzuki GSXr 600 12,000km

All bikes are nice never dropped and good shape

Cant decide which way to go I like them all and they all fit quite nice.

Thanks for the help

what does it come down to?? They are all extremely similar, bikes imo are just personal preference. I'm a suzuki guy, honda generally cost more and hold value.

I wouldn't touch the R6, that gen of R6 has notorious crank bearing failures. It happened to my buddy on his '06 R6, the engine just tanked on Deerfoot.... he had to replace the engine with one from a crashed bike. :nut: That was a costly lesson. Apparently its not overly rare, its happened to a handful of others on that forum he was on, "R6messagenet" I think it was.

Asides from that, the CBR and GSXR are quite similar, both would be a good choice. Its just your call.

The R6 is the sexiest of the bunch but they're all so close that you're not going to end up with a shitty bike with any of the 3.

Have to agree with theken that the hondas hold the best value. Gsxrs can be had for cheap and theres lots of them for sale. Unfortunately no one can help you answer this because everyone will have their favorites and most guys are biased to what they ride.

The only thing I can say for sure is BUY NOW! There are a lot of desperate owners now but not for long.

I own an '07 CBR600. Love it. No complaints about it… except for where Honda stuck the oil filter.

I've owned all 3 and the only one I'd never touch again is the CBR. When I bought mine I only rode it maybe 3 times because I hated it so much, everything about it just felt cheap and flimsy. I felt like I was on a kids toy.

GSX-R is a small bike, The R6 is about one of the tallest bikes out there.

The gixxer is very light and easy to throw around, comfortable, and just a good all around sport
bike, the R6 is all business, very aggressive riding, but if you are a decent to good rider, then it is very rewarding.

I would honestly only ever own an r6 to use on the track, city riding that thing is too much work.
but between the two I would go for the Yamaha.

If it's for street use, just pick whichever one calls to you. They'll all get the job done, and any issues can be remedied/adjusted to a certain extent. eg: the Honda won’t give you a slipper (or even a gear indicator for that matter), but you can add those things. As always, it just depends how far you’re willing to go to tailor the bike to your needs. Whatever nuances remain, you’ll adjust to.

I’ve owned and tracked the CBR, GSX-R, and the ZX6R, while having lots of kms on the R6. I’ve also owned a Street Triple, which has a variant of the Daytona motor (which is fantastic btw), so I have some experience with 600s. I do have my preference (ZX6R), but I can’t say that any of them were truly disappointing - even on track. Remember, it’s a supersport, so it’s likely not the last sportbike that you’ll be buying. Truth be told, you’ll probably ditch it after a few seasons anyway. So, just go with the one you gravitate to, mod where necessary, enjoy the ride, and look forward to the next one.

*That said, those R6s do have issues with grenading motors, as mentioned.

Honestly thank you all the advice helped

Your right I gotta ride it and I have to like it

I chose the GSXR for the ride height, the gear indicator and the condition it had all 3 I'm very happy with it

Can't wait to ride this year
