Whats up with those Lonestar Mercedes commercials?

Why are they so bad (the new C Class one, douchey looking guy driving around town looks like it was shot with a cell phone camera stops a woman says excuse me he goes sure how bout Saturday night?)? Are they like the Len T Wong commercials... maybe intentionally bad to be memorable?

I saw the same one yesterday, in black right? I only got a glance, so I wasn't sure if it was the Merc, Ford or Nissan cargo van. I'd be pretty embarrassed to be pulled over by that thing,.

I'm guessing that someone high up at the dealership (maybe ownership) is letting their niece or nephew who is "hip & cool" produce that commercial on a budget, and man does it show. Having low-rent advertising like that devalues a premium brand.

I still haven't seen 'em yet, since I mostly watch US TV.

I can't hit the mute button fast enough. Almost the worst local commercial on TV, Pete the Plumber is #1. And yes, it degrades MB into the Lada zone. Some cheesy porn music might save the MB commercial. Was it shot on an iPhone 6?

I completely agree, i will wait to see a C63 in person ( which is the only trim i give 2 shits about anyways) before resting my conclusions.

The C63 looks nice. It takes a while to get used to this look (as with every new generation) but once you do, it's a good step forward. A little less boy racer, a lot more mature. The W204 will look very dated in another 2 years.

IMO, it'll be the new coupe that blows everyone away.

I saw this commercial the other night and thought the exact same thing about how bad it was. It has the same feel as the Saneal Camera tv commercials with the two girls sitting on a patio and a guy comes up and takes pictures of them.

I don't like the looks of the new C63 at all. Perhaps it will take some time but I am not a fan of so much curvy. It doesn't really look 'savage' anymore and looks too feminine for my taste. E92 M3's took forever to grow on me so perhaps it'll be the same for this one.

Haha yea it might change for sure as I start seeing them driving around. Even if I like them I doubt I'd want to upgrade to one when I finally upgrade, we will see I guess.

I have not seen this Sprinter unit, but from what you are saying this is an "unmarked" unit?

When I was at Law Day 2014 at the Calgary Courts Center, the police had their Check Stop bus parked out front with a couple of the officers from that unit there to answer questions. The officer there said that the Police were going to get a couple Sprinter vans to replace the bus. They can set up in sneakier places with these smaller Sprinter vans, and there is no need for a class 3 license unlike the bus.
