View Full Version : Police Car Following Police Car

I saw something weird today, and was hoping somebody could explain it (no pictures as I was driving). An white cop car that looked to be undercover pulled up beside me (or so I thought) but instead of having no markings on the car it had 4 blue numbers decal'd on the front fender and back bumper (I am assuming unit number). There were two officers in the vehicle with someone detained in the back. Then right behind this car was another police vehicle that was a fully marked CPS car but had a bag over its lights with out of service written on it. This car also had two officers.

A bit down the road as I was waiting for the turn, I then noticed a second set of cars that were identical (all white car with different 4 digit unit number on fender and bumper and a marked cps unit with bag over lights) pass me again. This was on McKnight heading westbound around 1:20pm.

Can anybody explain what was going on?

This. Unless this detainee was the mechanic guy who wanted a ride to the service shop/station/Timmies

:werd: Lights get bagged when in for service so the service tech can drive it around to diagnose/troubleshoot.

The guy in back will be holding the coffee and donuts for the return trip to the station. They used to take four employees, coffee-guy and donut-guy. Cut backs hitting everyone these days.

I would agree that the passenger in the back was just there due to a lack of front seat room.

The tale of service/decals is the right one.

Training cars. The numbers on the side were probably something like 7125?

Prisoner transport by sheriffs is only handled for provincial transfers, not local in custody. CPS transfers & transports prisoners from our arrest processing area to the remand center. Once there, if they are to be taken to court etc, then the Sheriffs handle it.
