Fireplace Wall - Tile, Stone or 3D Panel

I'm building a house and considering options for finishing the fireplace wall. It's open to above, so 19' high and about 5' across.

I was initally sold on doing a modern tile up the wall, but I've recently come across these 3D panels which look pretty cool... and are quite cheap.
I am going for something modern-ish as I am doing white gloss cabinets.
