Was at the auto mall and decided to check out the Bentley store. Outside was a coupe with a sticker of $230k, but I had to laugh at the details on it.

It stated that you own the car for only $150k down and $2100 a month for 72 months :nut:

Who would finance a Bentley? And for 72 months for over $80k in interest?

Guess dropping the down payment on a M5 with money left over isn't elite enough to keep up with the Jones these days.

money is cheap, if you got that kind of coin chances are you have better uses for it than sitting in a depreciating asset...

IIRC correctly Bentley uses VW finance. You could get a 0.9 - 2.9% rate. Even if I had the 230K cash to buy the car I would still finance it, your ROI on that cash is going to be much higher than the 0.9 to 2.9% that it costs you to borrow.

company car... lease if possible

BUT running those above numbers... its not adding up, $230k-$150k=$80k financed, over 6 years for $2100 a month is like 25% interest... that cant be right

im betting its the inverse... cause that would be ~0.9%

I believe it was 5.99% financing.

Using a financing calculator it makes sense if the list price is 280,000 I must have mistaken the 8 for a 3.

Number must work for someone. Like AHS exec or crooked fund managers.

When I worked there the Bentleys were 65% company owned bust the Aston's were personal toys.

Is it the Flying Star? I could see it as part of the executive fleet.

My buddy is at Martin Motorsports and was at the boat show there, it amazes me how many high end boats they turn over! Me, I could never justify it but I know a few guys with boats that retail in the mid 100k's. It's insane. It wouldn't shock me a bit if they sell a few of those.

On topic - I'd take that boat over the Bentley anyday!

Haha $312k almost for a boat.

That's almost identical to my mortgage payment.

A boat is a hole in the water you throw money into.
