I'm leaning towards going to the one in Vegas instead. I'm not too sure what to expect in Calgary. The import scene here seems to be slowly dying and the show probably won't be as big as anything in any of the US cities. And if the show is lame down there, at least there is still the rest of Vegas to find stuff to do.
Are there cars and stuff that travel with the show or does it all rely on local talent?

I think part of the reason our import scene is dying in Calgary is because the love of the culture itself seems to be a thing of the past. Seems to be a dick swinging contest regarding who's car has more money invested these days. All the people with "fast" cars think all the show cars are garbage and useless. While all the show cars think performance oriented people are all irresponsible street racers lol. I for one can't wait for H.I.N.

The scene is dying cause of the haters. Some kid is going to dump $50k into a BRZ only to have Beyond tell them, bad life choice blah blah, you will regret it later blah blah, you should have invested it blah blah. The same guys who will then complain no cool cars at the show etc. etc. Models aren't hot. That's why we can't have anything nice. Carry on and have a nice day.

Marketed as a "car meet" yet they are still asking big $ to exhibit in a parking lot. I wonder if they just duplicated the HIN Vancouver page and changed the venue?

I find it odd too that they wouldn't try to pair up with Beyond to get this rolling a bit better. It's very poorly organized.

We wouldn't be able to help. Our involvement in shows are from the sponsorship and marketing side, and that's it. Driven and illmotion are run well because they are run well by the organizers.

I think they are trying to copy Wekfest. They usually do their shows in parkades but that's a fucked up location for calgary.

I had emailed the organizers a few weeks back when I was thinking about making the trip from Winnipeg. They're calling it a 'meet' but it's going to be more of a car show apparently...

I'm giving this one a 'wait and see' approach. If it turns out to be decent, maybe I'll make the trip next year.

How was this show/meet?

It was okay. Pretty much just another show and shine. Ashley V was hot, the other models weren't very approachable IMO. Lots of revving and drifting - the usual. The throwing of memorabilia was kinda lame and the disregard of people vehicles when said memorabilia was being thrown around and hitting them. It poured rain pretty hard at the end. Which could have been preventable it the wrapped up the awards quicker. I did manage to take home and award for best domestic. That was pretty nice

If it was just an ordinary show it would have been good. Wasn't worth the hype of the "HIN" name imo. At least it happened though. Really glad I didn't get convinced to put my car in, domestics seemed awkward with exception to a few like eglove's. Must have been a super long day for the participants too...

I agree the throwing of things that hit people's cars wasn't cool.
