Hello,
Some members requested a build thread on my car, so here we go.

Please feel free to comment and ask questions. The car is far from complete (will never be complete) so I will update it as it goes.

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8747/16813599075_41f796ed68_c.jpg

The car was purchased in 2007 as a father-son project. It had just been used as a donor car for a gt that had hit a deer and its next destination would have likely been the crusher.

All the work was done by my father and I in a standard 2 car garage including the paint. The project started off with an engine swap since the barely running 3.8 v6 wasn't really an option. Of course a v8 engine swap is the first thing that comes to anyones mind, but we had also heard of some interesting v6 builds. We started doing some research and ended up finding a wrecked F-150 with a 4.2 v6 that could be swapped into the mustang.

The 4.2 is a similar engine to the original 3.8 but with the main differences of larger displacement and split port. Boost was the second part of the equation. There had been some people that used an adapter plate to fit a M112 supercharger from the 03/04 cobras onto a splitport v6. Sounded like fun, build a v6 that could beat up the v8s of its era. :D

So in conclusion, the idea behind the build was to do something different. (Something that's not often seen in the mustang community...)

Suspension & Interior

Don't really have an pictures of the suspension and interior upgrades. The suspension was all replaced with a bunch of goodies highlighted in the mod list. The interior was completly gutted and the resembled from the few usable stock pieces and an 2000 mustang interior. There was also the 8.8 rear end swap.

From there the car was painted and reassembled. I drove it like that for a year or two, then the supercharger went on.

It uses an adapter plate from SSM

There was obvious good clearance issues, so work had to be done.

With the blower came heat. Since I cant really put an intercooler underneath I am using Meth to help cool things.

I also did an LED swap...

That is a super quick walk through of the build... Just a quick summary really. Next I'll post some more current pictures, videos and dyno results.

Some of the pictures taken by Kevin Chow (unkicrackie99) . Some of the pictures were taken at the closed mental hospital in Raymond Alberta.

If you are on mobile, they'll likely show up weird... Not sure why.

Man that is a sweet job you did there. especially with the supercharger swap
I remember how shitty the N/A 4.2L was. it was the engine in my first truck a 97 F150. couldn't even turn over one tire fire.

Generally not a huge fan of that gen mustang, but this one works really well. What kind of power does the blown 4.2 put out?

I seem to get that a lot. The generation isn't terribly desirable, but I think they can look great with some tweeking.

With the bugs worked out, it should now be at the 300whp point which was my overall goal for the build.

This is a fairly safe setup, there have been people that have pushed the block to 600. I believe at 600 the studs pull apart.

Like others, not my favorite gen but I really like them with the cobra bumper and hood. Creates a whole new look I think. I think not really being able to do something with the exhaust tips is what gets me about this gen, something so trivial.

That said, very cool car. Looks awesome and props for a different build!

Thank you. The interior is definitely making its way up on the to-do list. Seats being the major thing. As for the steering wheel... unless I could find a 10th anniversary wheel for a decent price (impossible) I'll be sticking with the stock wheel. Aftermarket wheels look horrible because of the chunky steering column cover. I will hopefully be doing something with the stock wheel to make it a million times better.

Thanks! What do you mean not being able to do something with the exhaust tips? You can do anything you want with these cars. Get huge tips, dumps, termi exhaust, even side exhaust with the svo side skirts. Exhaust is easy to customize, but since its a mustang the aftermarket is endless.

With the v6 I don't want to change my exhaust too much from current, I think I've made it sound very good. Its really easy to make a v6 sound horrible lol.

I guess all I was getting at is that it's often you see people running their tips similar to what you have done. For me, it's too much tip (from a side profile). Just me being picky with that gen is all.

Ah, I understand now. Mine are fairly long and a good portion of the SN95 community run them the same. You can get shorter tips. I do think the shorter tips look goofy because you can see so much of the side profile.

Very nice, great job.

I don't know much about these cars/platforms so I'm just curious why supercharge an F150 V6 instead of the GT's 5L V8? Wouldn't the V8 net more power than the 6?

In the original post I explain just to do something different.

The 5.0L aren't anything special in this generation... I was making more power N/A that I would with a 5.0L in...

I might..honestly my SN95 has turned into an unbelievable money pit so it's kind of become a source of frustration more than anything. I've had to replace an axle, the transmission as well as the harmonic balancer within the past 4 months or so. :whipped:

So I got these a few weeks ago. Same injectors as before but cleaned, tested and rebuild by Performance Fuel Injection in High River.
I put the injectors in a couple weekends ago. I was able to remove and install the injectors without pulling the adapter plate and blower off :bigpimp: though it wasn't easy....

Waiting to put the connectors on when i have some time and am back with the car, easter?

Thats all i really have for updates now.

I should mention I accepted a job back in Lethbridge, so once I graduate at the end of April I can start earning money again! :D

So there may be a new daily soon and new projects for the mustang shorty!

Early graduation gift to myself... Corbeau LG1 black microsuede. Bought at Western Motorsports in Calgary. The rails are on their way

Figured it was time to start focusing on the interior and enjoy driving the car. Have also noticed my back is getting a bit more sensitive to seats, these are a lot better and I'll likely order the lumbar add on to further improve them. So this is step 1 of the interior!

Sorry for the shitty pictures, only have my phone and go pro on me.

^ Nice, love the seats. I just recently ordered some Corbeau's as well. I was debating between the LG1, FX1 Pro and Forza Sport but ended up going with the Forza Sport as it is FIA certified.

How much did you pay for the seats locally, curious what pricing is when compared with Corbeau directly? You can PM if you don't want to post it here.

WesternMotorsports got these before the dollar took a dump, so they gave me that price. I paid 1150 for the seats, which I think is pretty good since they're 1000 US

The rails are on order. All together 1400 ready to bolt in.

I just liked how I got to sit in them and try them out. I also tried the sparco seats in the raptrac which I would buy if my car was more rack oriented as they are a good price for the product. Just not as comfortable.

Great looking car. I'm pretty familiar with the Ford 3.8/4.2's. I'd encourage you to get a tune on that pretty quick. Toma has done some work in the past on SuperCoupe's which are similar. Unsure what kind of boost you are running but without an I/C I'd make sure you are around the 6-8 mark. There is another hopped up 4.2 SN95 around, Jay's procharger build.

Of course I have a tune lol.
N/A it was done by VMP, tried to get them to do it with the SC and had problems with data logging and them actually doing work...

Currently running a diablo chip by tecmotion in Calgary. Matt is a great tuner.

Right now I'm at 9, would like to bump it down a touch to get the best boost VS temp mixture. Damn hEatons.
To compensate for the intercooler I'm running meth. It's made a huge difference. Before the meth I would make 1 pull and it would seriously retard. Now it doesn't heat up hardly at all

I was unaware of anyone in Alberta with a built v6, know of a guy in Sask but that's it. Would love to meet with Jay.

There is a sleeper cell. Not many of us but we are around. There is at least 6 Thunderbird SC's that have been hopped up. Jay hasen't posted in awhile but this is his build.

I'm personally building a 4.5L SVO V6 (http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?132848-SVO-Thunderbird) after hearing of all the design limitations of 3.8/4.2. Progress is painfully slow though but it'll be a hell of a unicorn build once done. Bet this is the first and last time you'll see a SVO build.

Sweet deal, good to know there are still some around.
Awesome build.

That's a great point about the rarity of boosted v6 Mustangs of that generation.

The funniest part of that is everyone, and I mean EVERY single person I knew who bought the v6 (either parents not wanting the v8 for "safety" reasons - ha ha - or for price reasons), always, always had the same slugline - "I'm going to supercharge it next month/year/whatever". I swear, I never met a Mustang v6 owner who didn't say that, in some sort of defensive way for not having bought a v8 car..."I got the v6 so I could supercharge it".

Not a single owner that's said that to me ever boosted their v6 Mustang, despite the many claims that "it was the plan all along" or something. I grew up on the 87-92 Five Litre cars being "the" ride to buy in your teens, but this generation you've built NoPulp is the first that I actually could afford, and owned in my early 20s. I had the v8 version, and like I said, every single v6 owner I would run into would invariably bring up boosting it in some way..hah. Nice to see one live and in color, even years later now.

I think this is probably one of my favorite builds I've seen, and not just because you actually DID boost a v6 Mustang - again, often claimed, rarely done in Western Canada in my experience - but also because of the fact you and your father did it at home yourselves, and did such a great job IMO. I really like it, great color, great interior with those new seats as wel.

Any idea on the total cost? That's one thing I didn't see so far, lots of questions and answers on power/tech stuff, but not on what it has set you back, other than the new seats. I'd love to do something similar with an ecoboost 4cyl in a year of two once some decent used ones come available in that time frame I like to purchase..

Great job, thanks for sharing all the pics. Are you or your father mechanics by trade?

Thank you! Really appreciate it!

Yes, I always find big talk with v6 owners... As much as I like sharing some of my knowledge and experience its frustrating that a lot of it gets wasted. Its not rocket science, but its a lot more than buying a blower and bolting it on. I also find a lot of the v6 builds can be really junky...

The car was a huge financial mistake lol. But its never been about the money. We use to keep track since it was always sort of a "budget build within reason", collecting parts as deals came up. I believe it hit the 20k mark a couple years ago? Definitely not worth a fraction of that, but that doesnt really matter. Its worth a lot more to me than that, I have no regrets continuing dumping in more money and time into it. I won't be letting the car go until its in tiny pieces or I get too old to enjoy it.

I'd love to see more ecoboost builds too. I've started to see a couple foxes take on a modern svo approach with the ecoboost.

Neither my dad or I are mechanics. My dad is really a jack of all trades. He's learned everything on his own (learned on his Nova and Galaxie), my grandpa isn't entirely mechanical inclined in the automotive sense. When I was younger we didn't have much money, my dad would buy cars occasional and fix them up to sell. My dad's education is accounting, millwright and electrician. He mostly does electrical and programming right now, in the past he's done engineering and management as well. I'll be graduating as a mechanical engineer technologist next week (should be studying for finals right now). I started off going for my degree, but wanted to be more hands on. Really enjoy what I'm doing.

Also, we just picked up another project... 56 ford 2dr sedan. It has a 55 front end and meteor grill right now. My dad just finished building a new garage, so he bought a project. Really happy he finally has a project for himself since its been over a decade since he sold the Galaxie. I might post a build thread for this if there's any interest once the project gets going. Right now its in the planning and parts/tool collecting stage.

He's thinking coyote swap if we can make it fit. If not maybe an ecoboost project? or something else different. Currently has an old truck 302 in it.

Well...
Got pissed off at the car today. Have been having this weird intermittent miss for awhile, has been more frequent lately. After going through everything I got pissed off and decided to dig deeper. Started to suspect it could be a vacuum leak between the plate and the intake. Looks like I may have been correct.

Well everything is back together! Started it up, pulled it out of the garage.... smoke. Opened the hood and right away I saw one of the rubber heater lines was punctured and pissing out coolant. Great, one of those days! Tracked down a hose, bashed my knuckles a few more times and the burped the system.

Took it for a test drive... Don't want to jinx anything but it's running better than ever! I'm pretty confident that was the issue! Finally found it!
I must have looked like an idiot driving down the road because I must have had a big dumb grin on my face.

Anyways, road trip tomorrow to calgary lol

Seats installed! Need to get better pictures of the after since these pictures don't do justice. Very happy with the seats though!

The seats are a bit lighter, nothing incredible but every pound matters. Wasn't expecting huge weight savings and not the reason I bought these. I find a sit slightly lower than the stock seats, but its a really nice seating position. I'm 5 11" and the seats are the perfect size for me, the top of the seat nicely rests at the correct part of my head instead of the bottom of my neck like the stock seats. The seats are much more comfortable and supporting compared to the stock seats. They're a bit firmer, but nothing horrible and I'm guessing they'll soften over time. I'll have to give them a road trip test, but I'm thinking they're a big improvement for comfort.

Really the only negative thing I have to say is I have to get use to reaching behind me for the seat belt since there is no more belt loop.

It was also a good opportunity to clean the carpet, found $2.35!

Dude! I just found this.... AWESOME! I love it!

I've got a four-eye parked at my parents house that I just haven't got around to fixing :(... v6, bright copper metallic, desert tan interior...

Like you said though, big plans for the v6, but reality is less impressive...

I've been eyeballing one of the SSM stage3 kits, but its like $10k... now, it'll supposedly handle 20psi or a 200hp nitrous shot, but still...

I love that you resisted the onslaught to switch to a v8, and instead have one badass v6 stang! I'd love to see it in person one day...

I really like 4 eyes, especially in copper. There use to be a super minty t-top around here.

I think its pretty easy to make good power out of a v6 for super cheap. Just strap a blower or turbo on it and hope for the best. It does get expensive to do it "properly" though.

The v6 build has definitely been fun. The engine build will likely end here though, probably just focus on getting it running perfect. Then when its time for a new engine I think I'll go with a coyote with a 6 speed. Its like the LS swap for people with taste... haha kidding. But the coyote is such a great platform and very cost effective.

A v6 ecoboost is tempting though... Not much support for swapping yet though.

Thanks for the kind words! Should be hitting up a few Calgary shows this year!

yea.. that sucks, but then, just means one would have to find a wreck with a complete drivetrain.... hmmmm, 3.5l ecoboost, and all wheel drive....

Don't get me wrong, the coyote is a nuts motor... but its also heavy...

Mine should be relatively easy to fix, I just have to find time/money for parts... needs a new rad support, alternator, trans cooler lines, and some other odds and ends, and I might be able to get it running again... well, and I'd have to flush the entire fuel system as its been sitting for a few years...

Keep us updated on how it goes, Im curious to see what you've got in the plan!

3.5L Ecoboost is 449lbs and the Coyote is 430lbs. Neither are light weights. I'm not biased though.

Edit: common misconception about the Coyote's weight - it is very wide which is where you can't beat an LS motor.

For comparison a LS3 is about 418lbs.

1. Driven - Olympic Oval May 23th
2. illmotion (if I get in) - August 9th
3. Frontier Place (Ford show) - August 16th in the Tecmotion parking lot (Frontier Place SE)

Anyways... Still working on pictures from Driven, will post them in the pic thread that was created when done.

Thanks Beyond for the opportunity! I was shocked to be considered for the show and was super excited when accepted.

I was even more shocked when I got an award... definitely wasn't expecting that considering all the insane builds that were at the event. I ended up winning Judge's Choice, I forget how they explained it but it was something along the line of for a vehicle that didn't really fit a category but the judges felt the work done to the vehicle and the owner of the vehicle deserved recognition. I think something like that? Either way I was blown away.

Again, thank Beyond! Hope to do more with you guys!
Congrats to the other 3 booth members that took home awards and all the beyond members who took home awards. All well deserved.

Hola.

Not much for updates, been busy with work and trying to sell my DD Focus. Hoping to get back in an F-150 and decided to just stay with buying used to avoid payments. So... hopefully I'll be able to do some fun projects starting in the fall. I want to focus on details such as interior and engine bay. I'm also keeping my eye out for wheels... even though I love my silver bullitts they're way too common.

So I'm on the look out for legit wheels, not in a huge rush. If anyone wants to keep an eye out that would be appreciated. I'd like a lighter colour (prefer silver paint, no black and not typically huge on chrome) set of staggered wheels with a deepdish rear or maybe concaved. 18" or maybe 19" wheel with 5x114.3 and I need atleast a 70.3 bore i believe... I'm happy with how my front fits so i need around a 9" wheel with +24. I have a lot of room in the rears to fill, currently they're 10" +20.

Anyways, played more with my camera.

Good news:
-sold the focus
-bought a 2007 f150

Bad news:
-new truck just got minor hail damage.

Oh well, it'll get fixed. I'm very happy to be back in a f150 after 2 years. I miss my supercharged 10th gen, but I enjoy how large the interior is in this new truck. Also the 5.4 makes good power. So far the truck has catback exhaust and a CAI. My only plans are to permanently fix the common issues. I'll be ordering headers to fix the exhaust leak and also gut the cats. Then change the spark plugs out and hopefully do a permanent cam phaser fix.

I hate how much I love this thing in orange haha.

It's usually a color I can't stand.

But honestly I love everything about this car!!!

Super original build love it.

I know cars are never "done" but is this where you want it or is there big plans for it still?

Thank you! Appreciate it!

The car is very far from where I want it... definitely a life time project.
Right now I'd like to focus on interior and engine bay details. But I would also like different wheels and moar low. The bullitt wheels I have are my childhood favorites and I think work well on the car, but they're too cookie cutter. I would like to find good quality wheels that aren't typically seen on mustangs.

Then from there... have lots of ideas haha. Try to keep a balance of actually driving/ enjoying the car and doing big projects.

Anyways, couple of more recent pictures. I've been practicing lots with my camera, but always forget to shoot my own car :dunno:

Also, I was able to register for illmotion. Car will probably be a bit out of place, but oh well :) Will be fun!

I have always loved the look of CCW's on stangs, but that might still be a little too cookie cutter for you.

Car does look great the way she sits right now though!

I like CCWS except I probably wouldn't do the normal ones that people do on mustangs like the classics.

I've been tossing around the idea of work wheels. Might be a little cookie cutter in terms of import, but I dont know many mustangs on works especially my generation.

Right now I'm not in a huge rush, just keeping my eye open for a nice used set. Which is unlikely for the staggered combo that will work on my car. Maybe in the spring I'll look at wheels more seriously.

If you are spending CCW or Work $, what about Forgeline? They make some great wheels that would be custom to your ride.

Hello hello.

Went to Vegas for my college grad and 21st birthday. Got to do some neat things! I drove a 2015 aston martin vantage gt around a track, very fun. Need to get a race car... but I don't think owning 3 cars would be a good idea at this point.

Also while in vegas I visited the shelby factory, very neat and cool tour! I picked up a HUGE trunk organizer there. This should help the disaster I currently have in my trunk.

Anyways, getting ready for this weekend!
Chow, Taylor and I can coming up saturday to possible do a shoot and check out HIN. Then I'll have my car at Illmotion Sunday School. Come say hi if you see some ugly ginger guy beside an ugly orange mustang or attempting to take pictures.

Had a great weekend in calgary!
This weekend is the most I've driven the mustang in calgary. In between checking out HIN I drove around the city and downtown... how do you guys with lowered cars drive in the city?!

Even though my car doesn't appear slammed, it doesn't actually have ton of ground clearance since they came from the factory lifted... but i know lots of you guys are lower than me. It was terrifying at times, but also comical as unkicrackie99 and toster were smashing their heads on the roof/window in the back seat. The scrapping of cats wasn't so cool. Anyways, I guess I can no longer complain about lethbridge roads or maybe I'm just more familiar with the city's obstructions.

I'll be back in Calgary next weekend for the Frontier Show at Tecmotion. If you're interested in some of the best performance/interesting Fords in the area, come check it out on Sunday.

After that show I'll probably be thinking about digging back into the mustang. Going to do some work on the truck in Sept first though.

Interesting to see toster pose for a picture outside of the trunk.

Some of the roads aren't going to be good for lowered cars not familiar with Calgary. WB Memorial Drive comes to mind as the lane on the right has large manhole covers for quite a stretch while the others don't.

The Frontier show sounds interesting. I haven't heard about it. Hopefully I can find some time to take a break from studying and make it out for a bit.

On sunday went the the frontier show. It was small and pretty fun. I walked away with best in class for modified 94-98 mustang. I also won 3 sweet door prizes (actually a 4th but I felt bad and told them to redraw).

After the show we went downtown and were suppose to shoot a car... but I guess their car was made out of sugar and would dissolve in the rain, just kidding I think the real scare was hail. I was sad I missed all the shoots this weekend, wanted more practice...

I found a dealer that can get me a good deal on wheels I want... I have the money... I'm very tempted. I have a bunch of other plans for the car this winter too, but I'm a bit unsure of what to do...

There's a possibility of moving to Toronto in a couple of years since my girlfriend is think of becoming a chiropractor. If that happens it means I'll be there for 4 years I believe, so I would need a toy of some sort. It would be nice to have a vehicle that is less needy and will actually pass their emissions (I think it would pass? But they might not like the no EGR thing and its a long way to drive without knowing for sure). Something that is a little more simple and that someone else could repair if needed. It would also be nice to have a vehicle that could possibly be more oriented towards track use. Why not race the mustang? I dunno, I just don't really want to beat on something I care about. Maybe some of you have seen the movie "Love the Beast"? So I might be saving for a third vehicle instead of doing major projects to the mustang.

Anyways, the car isn't going anywhere and I will continue working on it. My plans may just not happen nearly as fast as I would like. I still have tons to work on over winter, just won't be doing any major projects.

With the truck I have my tuner and cam phaser lockouts. Just waiting on bolts and the wedge tool. So I'll be doing a cam phaser lockout and spark plug change sometime this month. I will hopefully be getting headers at some point too. Then I will no longer have a diesel sounding f-150 . Oh, I also have some LOBO badges coming (Mexico's F150) just to do something different.

LASTLY, sorry for those that actually read all my crappy engineering engrish. I have started my own website:

http://www.nopulp.ca/

It's still in the beginning stages, but it'll basically be my blog and projects page. Something to keep me busy and encourage me.

I'm looking for cars to shoot, so if you have something very clean or interesting let me know! I am by no means professional, just looking for practice and content for my website.

No real update on the car. I did a cam phaser lockout on my truck, which went very good. I also decided to change the sparkplugs while I was in there, only broke 8/8 sparkplugs... niiice. I'll post a blog about the cam phaser lockout and sparkplugs on my website later this week. Now I just need to replace an exhaust manifold on the truck, which I'm not ambitious enough to do. For the first time ever I'm going to get someone else to work on my vehicle... See how that goes.

Anyways, now that I have that out of the way I'll hopefully be able to plan and find time for winter projects.

What are your winter plans (if any?)

You don't think that rear needs to come down just a bit? Looks awesome but I'd like to see it dropped more in the rear.

No idea, priorities keep change and the dollar is really discouraging. I'd like to do a bit of mechanical work and clean things up. Might also work on dad's 56.

Oh it definitely does, its driving me nuts. I hate that big nasty factory fender lip too.
The fenders need to be rolled and it needs a ton more lowering in the rear. Also more aggressive wheels.

I'd like to do air suspension... but I priced it out through bag barn and the way I'd want to go was going to be 5K. It's worth it, but I think coils and wheels for now. There doesn't appear to be much of a choice for a full coilover kit, most don't have a real coilover rear. I think only BC, KW and MM have full kits. I'd like MM but its frustrating trying to get information from them, they only understand 100% track cars. KW has very little for information on their kit. I'm not sure I want BC.

Also want to do a bunch of interior work and make it run better. This intermittent miss I thought I fixed is priority now.

^ That surprises me about MM. Their tech line is one of the best I've ever encountered. I even Facetime'd them when I was installing their front kit. Have you tried calling Joel at Western Motorsports? I went with MM/Bilstein coilovers and Joel helped pick spring rates that made the car perfect for what I need it for (cruising/Autocross).

Edit: Joel also has a SN95 built for AutoX/Cruising so he may be able to help

The MM guys defintely know their stuff, but more for track... they started giving me all this advice about how I should set up my car for optimal performance. Apparently sn95 are suppose to run wider tires on the front than rear? :dunno: I tried explaining I care mostly about looks and street drive-ability, but I would like the option to have fun at a track. Though track isn't the main purpose. I do need to give them a bit more information though.

Yeah ill probably just talk to WMS, I like dealing with them.

New parts. Dad was in calgary a couple weekends ago and I guess got bored. He found a couple of airbags and center dash piece which appear to be in better condition than my current ones. He also found a couple of ECU to try on the car to see if my intermittent miss could be a faulty computer.

Also he found a 8.8 diff from an explorer for his 56 ford.

This intermittent miss has been a pain in the ass, very difficult to troubleshoot. The only time I can usually make it happen is climbing a hill on lower rpm. Then it begins to miss and the wideband reads lean. If I pull over, turn the car off, turn the car on, it returns to normal. The miss can also occur shortly after start up (drive for a couple of blocks) but its never been something I've been able to purposely recreate.

Codes read that cylinder 5 is the one missing, but it could be others. I don't think its a major engine issue because its running incredibly well when I go full out. Also the miss only occur intermittently, if it was a huge problem Id think it would be very regular?

I've gone through:
-Coil ( typically an issue with the v6s, I've had issues in the past and swapping the coil fixed it.)
-ignition
-fuel injectors
-injector connectors
-pulled the blower and adapter plate to make sure no weird vacuum issues.
-wire connections

- probably more stuff I've missed.

So we hooked up a fuel gauge and swapped the computers. After trying many times I finally got the problem to occur. The fuel rail pressure was fine and the computer obviously wasnt the issue.

The only thing I can think of is put it back on the dyno to see if its a tune issue or if it can be recreated there. The car has never really ran great under 2k rpm, it could be a tune issue I suppose.

Very frustrating
Should just do a coyote swap and be done with it

Do you have a CEL? Are you getting a P0305 and/or a P0205 as well?
Have you done a compression test? Leakdown test?

I believe its 305, but definitely not 205.
I dont think its a compression issue, that would come up frequently. It runs fine then its like a switch flips and it starts missing. Very intermittent and doesn't occur very often.

Edit: Just remembered I did a comp test awhile ago already.

Think I'll try a smoke test to see if that shows any vac leaks. Then I'm out of ideas.
