Caught here is Porsche's upcoming 911 Turbo. Taking the current 3.6-liter flat six bi-turbo, modifying and tweaking it a bit to 3.8 liters with 450 horsepower, the new turbo is rumored to do 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

Aggressive styling with huge air scoops makes this Turbo stand out among the other 911s. And clearly visible in these photos is the new retro-styled circular headlamps that all 911s will soon be sporting.

Wow, love the new front end with the classic Porsche lines and the widebody reminds me of the old 964 Turbo rear wells. I likes!

Awesome looking, I think the new turbo may be know as a 998, not positive on this but I think the 997 coming out next year is going to be an NA

I thought the chassis code was going to be the 999. (993, 996, 999)

Sick looking turbo, the back is way more aggressive looking as well. I love the headlights, which take some from the 993 and the 996(latest style, not boxster style)

Great find!

I think they should just call it the 911 again

but oh man, does that look good, right up there with the 993

but oh man, does that look good, right up there with the 993 ? they do. The car is the 911. the chassis what is being discussed.

no, with the new ones, 911 is more of a nickname that nobody but porsche ever uses. the last real 911 is owned by Jerry Springer and from then on there was 964, 993 etc

um-no...
The last air-cooled 911 is owned by Jerry Seinfeld, not Springer.
And 996 is still a 911- as was 901, 911,912,930,935,959,964,993 and 996.997 will be known as a 911 also.
hjr is correct.
Its the chassis designation that is called 996.

i was under the impression it followed a BMW style pattern.

like E30 3 series, E36 3 series, E46 3 Series

As to 930 911, 964 911, 993 911, 996 911 ???

If only i could afford one in the future... I love what they did to this car, especially with the scoops and the headlights. This car almost gets me as excited as the 993. Did they change the wing on the rear of the car? It looks kinda like the old "whale tail" in the first picture and I love the old whale tail wings.
