if it is indeed the smart car then its is a Daimler-Chrysler product.

The smart car was recently on display at the Edmonton Motorshow, and if I remember correctly, it was made by Mercedes. Will try to get pics of it from my friends.

*blink blink*
something doesn't seem right.
What's the engine in that car?
Isn't it the 1.3L V6 or something for the NA market? (or is that the peugot?)

Isn't that the tach over the center vent, and it redlines at 4000rpm??

Ugh, it looks like an ugly totoya echo to me.
except dumbed down even more...
It has potential though, but I don't think it really has a place in the north american market.

I have no idea what the specs, pricing, etc are. I only saw the car from far far away, and glimpsed at it for a second. These pictures are off of my friends' camera.

i personally cannot believe Mercedes would degrade themselves to such degree from world-class luxury to mini-compacts like that?!?! but ya i agree with zero these kind of cars don't belong in canada. maybe urban cities like new york, and LA, but it has no market in the more rural cities

Well if VW can make economy cars and then move up into the Luxury segment, then why cant Mercedes go the other way? I guess thats my way of looking at it.

Mercedes Benz makes several different econo cars as well as big trucks and vans. Its really only the North American market that knows them as luxury only vehicles. This car will be huge in large metropolitan areas thats about it

Yeah I hear they cost $200,000

Smarts are truly for an urban environment. Commuting, road trips and cruising are pretty much out of the question.

The Smart Roadster is being brought here as the Dodge Slingshot
