See if all you look at is HP then it would seem low - its not hard to get a high revving engine to produce a lot of horsepower but to get an engine to produce a high amount of torque - thats a different story. This engine redlines relatively low (~6000 RPM) so thats why the HP numbers aren't off the chart, but at the same time, with that kind of torque, you have an enzo killer. Even better is it produces that peak torque right from 2500 through 4500 RPM

If you look at formula 1 engines, a lot of them do well over 700 HP on tiny blocks, but they only put out around 200 lb.ft of torque.

850 HP and 850 lb.ft of torque is simply amazing

Is it just me or is the strut bar in the supra crooked?

although it is cool that he pulled a 6 and put in a 4 (weight distribution my guess?) it still kind of seems like a waste considering what motor was in there before. 700+hp 4cyl, sweet. 700+ hp 2jz that can run smooth all day, my prefrence.

:werd: i dont see why its so spectacular to remove such an amazing engine as the 2JZ and put in a little 3S-GTE? Wut happened to having no replacement for displacement..

That little 3S-GTE has huge potential, plus the weight difference makes for a much more balanced car. Obviously these guys found a formula that works instead of bigger displacement.

they removed the big 6 and put in the light 4 to show other people that small motors are still very capable or something... if i remember right that was the Top Secret widebody Supra that Super Street featured awhile back. The 4 cylinder was put in for more effective cooling and much improved weight distribution for top speed racing. Don't hold me to that though, it's an old article.
