Shipping air Airbag + Steering wheel from overseas?

I found a 3-spoke wheel that matches the kermit interior on my Allroad. I contacted the seller and they stated they cannot ship an Airbag via Airmail because it's an explosive. Any tips? I was considering getting it shipped to my Dad in France and he can ship it via sea/land?

It's expensive because it's dangerous goods, and considered explosives. Unless the shipper lies on the paperwork, it's going to be expensive regardless where it goes.

So I'm flying to France in a month. I could get it shipped from UK to my Dad's place in Normandy. I'm guessing there's no way I could check this in my baggage on the way home?
