Didn't I read somewhere that they actually have 2 rev limiters on there? They tested without the 1st rev limiter on an SL55 I believe and got it to 180mph...

First rev limiter is the real limiter and that limits the car to 155mph. The second "rev limiter" is the fuel pump which tops out at 180mph. No fuel no go! :)
