No, I don't think the US is next. But this summer and every dry year from now on will be an absolute price shocker for anything that was previously grown in California.

I vaguely remember some of these, Mexico, Belarus, Russia. Some are still collapsing (Argentina) The most devastating of all Yugoslavia did not really hit mainstream or local Canadian media, did not hear a whisper about it when I was young.

Alls I knows is that POM Shelled Pistachio's are $5 more per kg than they were last year.

Brought to light as its been getting a lot of attention lately. Other than the opinion at top about the US, the numbers for the hyperinflation failed states seem to be correct. There are many other nations that merely were "inflationary" meaning 60% or less per year.

60% per year is considered by many to be somewhat normal.

Interestingly enough, the US did have a hyperinflationary period when they lost the war against Britain/Canada way back in 1812.
