For deliveries, mobile storage solutions etc.

Looking for simple, cheap, basic, etc.

I came across Nissan NV200? Looks alright starting price $23500?

I was actually thinking about the Honda Element. Ford Transit?

Can ya toss in any other good alternatives? This isn't the segment I usually shop in.

My Tribeca isn't cutting it so looking to get rid of it.

Take a look at the Chevrolet City Express as well, it's a rebadge NV200. Might be cheaper if you're looking for bare bones.

Seriously though, the NV's are pretty impressive, tons of room

Element is gone and sparse in used market.

NV200 and Transit are the go to pedo van today.

Unless you want to go baller and go for a Merc Splinter.

Ram used to carry a version of Splinter as well. May have good price in used market. Ram also sell panel version of Caravan and Promaster which is a Fiat panel van.

That said, the cheapest would be a base Caravan for $19.8, just throw out the bench, fold the 3rd row and tape up the windows. It's just as wide as the other commercial offerings, just not as tall.

How large do you need? The Ford Transit Connect is a nice urban option if your cargo isn't massive. It's larger inside than most people realize.

I think the NV200 is perfect. No passenger seating necessary.

Currently use an element for my aquarium Maintenance business. Good on gas, AWD, honda reliability, bought it at 130 k and just rounding out 250 and have just done tires, brakes, starter (recent) and standard maintenance,

Boring as shit to drive...but solid as a rock.

Can fit a ton of cargo

Terrible for kids

I will go talk to Nissan and see what they say. I don't want to get Mar'd on a deal but understand I want to trade in the Tribeca too.

If you want the best price and selection, go talk to the Fleet sales at Shaw GMC. They have dozens and dozens of lightly used cargo vans of all makes (mostly GM though) and this is where my company buys all their vehicles as do a large percentage of other trades companies. (Example, $14,000 for a 3/4 ton GM van with 10,000km is not uncommon) Buying a brand new cargo van of any make is insane as they probably have the highest depreciation of any new vehicle.

we have a transit at work. not a bad looking vehicle with decent space, but MY GOD IS IT SLOW. its almost dangerous. you have to beat the crap out of it to go anywhere.

we also have an nv200. again, nice size and space, but just doesn't have the go if you're using it for much.

for any decent sized deliveries, i would look into something bigger.

That's exactly what my gf thought of when I told her and oddly enough one showed up across the street from us. haha

I have had limited interest in my Tribeca. I priced it close to blackbook but the vehicle just isn't very popular :dunno: It's in solid shape and I am booking it into Shine Factory for a nice deep interior clean. I'm reasonable on the price but I'm not gonna let it go for $12k damn Kijiji low ballers lol

Anyway, thoughts on these?
2011 Ford Transit $19,995. Blackbook shows $14K does it matter?

I thought low blackbook value is a concern when you get written off in a collision and insurance will only payout that amount instead of market value in the area.

Agreed. Unless you are hauling around some big heavy stuff the Transit will probably suffice.

Just to clarify, the Transit and the "Transit Connect" are two completely different vehicles.

Heard something along the lines of transmission issues on these so we went with NV200's instead. Never really looked into it though..

Edit - do a google search, it definitely exists!

Oh I def know how to use google. :D

I was just curious if dealers offer black book value on trade ins and say if they did buy those transit cargos for 14k, and currently asking 20k, if you can lowball them at 15k. or they just tell you stfu and wait for some other dude to pay full asking:dunno:

I don't buy many vehicles used so yea. I have been seeing more NV200's around and a black one would be sweet. didn't think the day would come where I would be in the market for a cargo van.

Lmao you trolling bruh

Anyway went to 9th ave auto. Transit connect is perfect. The 140hp will keep me out of trouble.

Good vibes at this used lot. Hope to strike a deal after the long weekend.

When I was running Neatfreak we leased a Transit Connect. It did the job and had lots of space. Plus, the back end was customization and easy to add shelving, hooks, etc. to. Recommended. :)

My family has bought several cars and trucks from them over the years. I also bought a '97 Probe GT from them way back in the day.

They were good to work with and always took care of us when we needed it, including when one of the vehicles we bought turned into a disaster. :)
