Anyone heard of GM Synchromest MTF??

I've read a lot of people using it in non GM cars and just love the stuff, makes the tranny really smooth and notch free.

Anyone else using this stuff?

Supposed to do wonders in the DSM trannies, besides BG Syncro and redlyne (sp?) tranny fluids it's probably the best stuff out there. Never tried it tho, thats just what i've heard from others, so i cant really give you any first hand experience.

I switched to GM Synchromesh today and it feels a bit smoother. Gate entry is easier. The real test is to come though, need to see how well it works in the cold.

Penzoil, and a few others actually have a direct replacement/competition product that list the GM part#.

Ford actually recommends to some Mustang owners to use it on tough cold Stang trannies.

It cost 5.25/Litre not $34. Just go to any GM dealer and they will have it.

I got that stuff put in my tranny for free, from Jack Carter, because I kept bitching and bitching about a "rattling chain" noise from the transmission. They said the new fluid should stop the noise.

However, by the way, it didn't fix the problem... :banghead:

I've used Redline MT90, GM Syncro, Amsoil and BG Syncroshift. BG is noticably better than the rest. You can get it for about $14/quart through Wagon Master Distributors. They have an office here in Calgary

if you have a tranny with synchros, it will work. The specs are pretty good in terms of wear protection. Read your owners manual about the specs that the tranny fluid should be first.
