Hi everyone,

I'm getting a new bike (brand new) and I'm wondering what kind of insurance I should get for it.

The cheaper option is obviously to just go for liability but I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to get full insurance (comprehensive/collision/etc).

What type of insurance do you have on your bike? What would you suggest I get?

Thanks for your help!

its a hell of a lot easier to deal with claims if you have full coverage... really its going to come down to a few things, cost difference, and is it financed or not? if it is...you probably wont even have a choice. you'll need full coverage

Bike insurance in Alberta isn't the big scary monster it used to be. Assuming you are over 20 and don't have a horrific driving record, it's pretty cheap. If you're in BC, SK, MB or ON though, it's a completely different story.

If you can't afford full coverage in Alberta then you can't afford to be riding.

It's not that I can't afford it, it's that I want to save money. :poosie:

Anyway thanks for your input everyone.

Like masked said, insurance is cheap now. Get Full coverage if you're a new rider.

Im a big fan of full coverage, especially having the piece of mind of theft protection/vandalism.
