Hi Beyonders,

I'm looking for your opinions.

To make a long story short:
An older lady scraps my rear bumper on my 2003 civic in a parking lot. We exchange info. I told her I would get a couple of estimates and we'll figure out how to proceed. One estimate was $650 and another was $810 to remove, repair and refinish the bumper.

As it is an older car I could probably live with the damage. If it was newer I would insist on a full repair. I'm tempted settle on $500 cash and just live with the scrape. Does this sound fair or should I insist on the full amount or I'm I asking for too much?

Thanks

500 is more than fair your already doing her a favor by not making a claim. I was in a similiar situation where my neighbor hit my parked car backing out. I got 3 quotes and he wrote me a cheque for the average

$650-810. Why do you want to settle for less? :nut:

$500 is probably her deductible, so who cares if she pays you, or pays insurance.

If you can live with it, then offer it.

I'd take the 500 cash and buy something else with it. It's probably not the first, nor the last, scratch on the car.

It's probably not the first, nor the last scratch from someone who shouldn't be driving.

FIXED.

I'm sure if you asked for $600 you'd get it. But yea, $500 is fair.
