Saw this on the corner of 5th ave and 1st SW, right outside Bow Valley Square.

Very cool and unique car.

esp annoying since its made in Leipzig and therefore cannot be customized at all. Plant is incapable of accepting individual orders.

Same reason I can't order an M2 in Java Green :(

As cool as it is there is a large list of cars I would order before that if I was willing to go into that price range. Esp with a potential M model on the horizon.

i thought it was a neat car, at least until i watched a video where the shop went for a tour around it and it seemed like a gigantic mechanical nightmare. hell, if you open the front the wrong way it breaks, lol.

What's crazy is that that Z8 is actually climbing in value.

It wasn't that long ago that you used to be able to get one for $100-120k.

I saw one in Richmond and they are great looking cars but I wouldn't own one in Calgary until there is an "i" branded dealer. Any service, warranty work or parts HAVE to come from Vancouver as they are the closest dealer.

I was under the impression that there was "i" service here (or at least, coming soon), but no "i" dealers :dunno:

The i8s are not $200k. There are some very optimistic dealers trying to flip them for ~$200k, but I doubt their getting anywhere close to that. New cars are (or have been) readily available, you just need to know who / where to ask ;)

As for the Z8, that's definitely a scam / fake ad. Nice Z8s are $150+, with rare combo / low mile cars now selling for ~$250US... And that's not to mention the Alpinas.

That's the base price. BMW is also forcing all the options on buyers. Don't buy the fully loaded Pure Impulse options? OK, we'll find the next buyer.

Nobody is walking out with a $150k i8.

There were some early delivery cars available without any options.
MSRP with the Pure Impulse Interior World is $156... it's the nearly $6k in freight and PDI that'll get ya :nut:
