This little Greek restaurant recently opened in Royal Oak right around where the five guys is.
I really like Opa, and Greek food in general tends to be kinda healthy so I thought I'd give it a a shot.
I am blown away by not just their food itself, but how friendly the staff is. The setup is similar to Opa, mostly fast food, but if you're staying they ask your name, bring your food out, etc... if I don't order a drink they ask if I'd like a glass of water.
Portions are huge, healthy amount of meat.
I been going there long enough that they're happy to throw in freebies from time to time.
All around, as long as I live in the NW I'll be going there and taking my friends there for a long time.
Price is kinda high for fast food/take out is the only issue, but it's worth every penny.

I went there to pick up dinner one time near closing, the guy gave me a bunch of extra.

Another good place to try out in the area is Las Canarias where the ill fated Wild Wing was. The Paella is

Wow 91% http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/15/1940319/restaurant/Royal-Oak/Las-Canarias-Calgary

Paros was closed today so I went to Costa Vida instead, but looks like I should have tried Las Canarias.

Love this place and the guys there are really nice. Chicken Souvla plate with chopped salad is what I normally get.

I need to try that Las Canaris place next.

Never heard of this los carinas place. I'll check it out next time I'm up.

Chopped lead gets a mention for being over priced with no flavour for places in that area.

I went to Las Canarias, ordered every appetizer and 2 paellas and it was all good. The Iberico platter is awesome (anyone know what the scary looking dark coloured cheese is?)

But to bring this thread back on topic, the calamari at Paros Souvla >>> Las Canarias. :)

Love this place. Food is much better than OPA and definitely worth the premium, which isn't much imo. It's about $3 more for the equivalent souvlaki platter and you get way better food. And ya, staff are always very friendly.

Tried this place a couple weeks ago, awesome food and super friendly staff as others have mentioned. We ordered a large quantity of take out and they were able to get our order spot on and quick as well.

Had the lamb and the chicken recently, both were very good. Highly recommended!

Food's good but dissappointed they took the meat soulva by weight off the menu. Calamari is very tasty too.

Disappointed they took the rotisserie away as the chicken is definitely not as good/moist as before.

First time I was there the food was excellent and portions were good. I went there last week and portions are smaller, hardly any chicken on my platter and burnt veggies.

Yeah, I rarely have the chicken there, when they changed from rotisserie to spits they asked me if I could tell the difference. It definitely made the pork better.
