Are you getting new or used? I'm assuming used because 323 was on available in 99 and 00

Don't think you can really lose with either one! I would probably go bimmer though- cuz thats what I'm doing next! :D

a4 with a APR chip...224HP, 242TQ...It's been a while since I have seen the numbers but they are pretty close. Turbo rules over N/A.

If you get the 2.6 a4 you get the nicer ride and recaro made leather seats....mmm recaro.

To me that low end BMW is not worth it, compared to an a4.

Exactly what I think, that bimmer comes with ass for standard features...and the a4 is either the 1.8T or the 30V 2.8L

The 2.8 was recently dropped for the 3.0, which is very very nice!!!

Yes it is very true, if performance was important, go with the 1.8T, chip, intake and exhaust and you be kicking serious ass.

It'll take alot more money to make a BMW fast. But BMWs still look better!! hahaha:devil:

Shit when I first saw the title I thought it was a race question. :nut:

Here's my take.

Quality wise they are both excellent cars but having driven both, BMW is the way to go. In terms of quality and fit and finish. Audi interiors leave a lot to be desired. For a car of it's stature, entry level or not, you'd expect more out of it.

If you're looking at a car to mod performance wise, you'll have to look at the money you're willing to spend. By far the Audi can be tuned to be much faster for MUCH MUCH less money. Both offerings have quality tuners.

Audi:

Projectzwo
Oettinger
ABT
Reiger

BMW:

AC Schnitzer
Hamann
Hartge
Alpina


In the end it's all a matter of personal preference. Drive both and see which one YOU like better.

I still like the audi more... it depends on your wants and needs... The 323 is a seriously nice looking car but the 1.8 T engine is more easily tunable if you like the FI route. :)

I could go for an Avant right now!! But on the other hand, the 325 is just as nice.

An immensely difficult choice if you don't have any prior allegiance to either marque.
