We just did one of these for the first time in a 2004 VW Passat.
Just included a generic pic of the DSA500RT from Focal.
The little guy is a ported enclosure with a 6x9 driver and 3CH amp with DSP for fine tuning through a laptop program.
I was a little weary of the 6x9 but it delivered the goods and exceeded everyone's expectations. Bass production was great and so was the extension it provided.
The power to the front stage was just right and balanced with the low end. We used an older set of Focal 165VR's(not the slims).
It comes with a bass knob that has the USB port where you tap into the DSP.
The DSP did a great job of creating a new and better sounding result that was large, deep and clear. The DSP can save a few pre-sets and you can upload and download the settings onto an online community to share settings with vehicles people have done.
All in all, really simple set up and a days worth of work and you got a great sounding system with all the right elements.
