Truck was recovered last night! (June 1) Thanks to everyone that shared the alert. Just proof that social media and the car community is a helpful resource! Also a shout out to the dumb asses that stole the truck in the first place! Thanks for being idiots and putting gasoline into a diesel...
Cash reward is going to the person that called it in.

Another $2500 reward is up for grabs with name(s) and proof of the culprits.

Please keep an eye out for a 2006 Sierra 2500 hd diesel champaign in color, lifted 20x12 low.offset wheels, exhaust , tinted windows, fully loaded leather, sunroof.

It did have ZPN-828 on it, but it's was spotted later last night on Blackfoot trail with different plates. Super distinct looking truck, exhaust is cut a lot shorter than most but still visible. little red PPE stickers on bottom of back window, no badges other than duramax logo on lower door.

Basically a flood no start both ways. In both scenarios you have to drain the tanks, often by removal. Then cleaning and purging the injectors.

The diesel engine is far worse because you have to bleed the injection system. I've done lots of both and it's a pain. The Duramax isn't as bad others.

Glad the truck is recovered!

It was a pretty simple process since this truck has an aftermarket lift pump that I could constantly flush the gasoline out until the tank was empty, then fill it with diesel and use the same lift pump to flush diesel through the whole fuel system . Had the truck running fine again in 2 hours.

Gas in a diesel can dry out some of the seals...

A little bit of diesel in a gas wont be too bad, just a little bit more lubricity , haha... might run a little less smoothly,,,,,usually will still run though
