Hey folks,

I'm looking to bring my girlfriend boating in Calgary (if possible). I know theres the Glenmore Reservoir but from my understanding thats just Sail Boats. And we arent that extreme.

So we're looking for where we can go pedal boating in Calgary.

Any suggestions?

thanks!

We did them at Bowness park years ago (before the floods) not sure if they still offer them

Glenmore also rents kayaks and canoes, and is a pretty nice setting.

The Bowness ones are always broken. It's terrible. But yea, the only 2 places I know that has them are Bowness (before flood) and Arbour Lake.

some of the man made lakes might have something, ie midnapore, bonavista etc but I dont know if there is anywhere that rents, or if its a neighborhood resident thing?

it's not paddle boating, but the calgary canoe club (on glenmore reservoir) has seasonal memberships that include rentals of canoes and kayaks.

http://calgarycanoeclub.com/

Family membership: $250 which includes rentals of canoes and kayaks, life jackets and paddles.

you can also rent canoes without a membership:

On reservoir canoe rentals (as shown above) for non-members are:

$35 for the day
$25 for a half day (after 3 p.m. or under 3 hours).
$15.00 for one hour

Price includes paddles and lifejackets.

Equipment: Our canoes are aluminum with 2 seats. You may take a 3rd person sitting in the middle-bottom of the canoe.
To prevent capsizing, ensure proper balance in the boat by distributing weight evenly.
