He's a friend of mine, but I haven't talked to him in a couple of months. Fuck man, this sucks. RIP Vic. Such an awesome guy, I really wonder what happened to such a young guy with so much to look forward to in life.

Edit: what I do know is that he's been nursing hockey concussions for a while and not long ago he was diagnosed with another, maybe that has something to do with it. Just speculation, I don't actually know.

Edit again: I wish I could be there to pay my respects. RIP bro.

such sad news. i met Victor at an mr2 meet quite a while back, same time i met 03ozwhip and mr2mike. He was such a cool kid, even set me up with a genuine hk license plate for my garage wall.

haven't spoken with him in a while now, we used to keep in touch and talk engg stuff when he was at the uofc quite often.

this is totally sad. when i fist saw this post late lastnight, i was like wtft...rip? was hoping it was a fucking typo.....couldn't sleep all night, this really upset me.

Vic, rip kid. Thanks for all the chats and bullshitting, it's been a real pleasure. You will be missed.

Even though I've fought and argued with pretty much every beyond member, I've still been checking the forum daily for over a decade, and feel very close to the members here. It's really sad to see one of us pass on.

If anyone wants to visit. The graveyard at eden brook is open 24/7. A bunch of our crew will be heading there later to pour some drinks for him.

He was a really close friend, always there anytime u needed him, always ready to give advice or just shoot the shit. Im really going to miss him... well i already do. Its hella tough.

I never seen sh0ko on here really even though I have been a long time member myself, but regardless, pretty tragic, RIP

I bumped into my friend yesterday and asked him what he was up to that day, and he said he just came back from a funeral...and then he went on to ask me if I know a certain someone at my old job (I just quit there 2 weeks ago)...I said I did, was a nice guy, always liked talking to him....well it appears that's sh0kos dad. Crazy small world. I feel terrible for the family. From all accounts it sounds like he was a very nice guy. Way too young. As soon as my friend asked if I knew his dad...the last names clicked in and I realized that I read about this on Beyond. I guess there was mention of beyond.ca at the funeral service describing him as an avid car fan. Really tragic. It impacted me and I didn't even know the guy.

I don't know the situation, however I have known enough people that have died and have witnessed the common trend.

When someone dies of cancer or some other illness it is talked about ("f@#$ cancer") and money is raised in their name.

When someone dies of a tragic accident there is a link to the local news and awareness about safety is raised.

When someone commits suicide due to depression, drug overdose or some other mental illness there is silence and no one want to talk about it and the silence is even more prevalent is certain cultures.

^ I agree. That needs to change. The stigma isn't helping anyone imo (coming forward with the cause even if it may cause embarrassment to the family name etc.)

This forum is big enough where naturally some members will pass away on occasion yet tight enough where some might need a way to pay tribute and keep their memory alive. I dunno, is it a good idea? I am not trying to be morbid but I can imagine some people seeing it that way.

Memorial sure, Necologue no that is morbid.

Agreed. I enjoy that about this place, it makes it nice.

By and large everyone who's been around relatively long term is good people even if you don't "know" them. Even the people you get into it with/poke at over whatever dumb thing (like myself and Bavarianbeast will occasionally) you would miss if they were gone and truth be told you'd likely decide, more often than not, that they're rad people in their own right if you had a beer or whatever with them.

It's nice to see that sh0ko/Victor left such a positive impression with friends/e-cquaintances alike.
