Flaking/peeling Clear Coat

My 2001 Prelude's clear coat is flaking and coming off on a few areas.
Wondering how I should address this issue?
Any way I can just DIY repair it?

I feel like just removing additional loose clear coat (proper prep), masking the area, and using Crappy Tire spray 'clear coat' is not gonna cut it (sanding/cutting etc)...

I'm having the same issue on my driverside door near the lower window trim, I'm looking at all new trim and weather stripping and paint etc. I don't imagine it would look too good unless you had experience with body work.
