what would the best pressure be for my tires? I have a 95 Teg GSR, and I recently went from stock to 17 inch Kumho's the tire guy said max pressure (44psi) but I've been hearing other opinions too.

What are you looking for? Comfort? Or ultimate cornering grip? For 17" wheels/tires, a good starting point would be 32psi for comfort, 38psi for all out handling. You'll have to play with the pressures and check often with tirewear to find the best compromise.

best comfort as well as best wear

I would start with the stock settings. 35 in the front and 32 in the back. Then start playing with them if you don't like the way they feel.

I tried what Nelson at Tunerworks recomended, stock plus 2, (37 front and 35 back) it seems to work pretty good right now. Just a comment, the guys at Tunerworks (where I bought my rims) are pretty awesome, helpful and friendly. I would go back there anytime. I will keep checking the wear and maybe change if necessary

If the pressure is to high you will wear them fast, is your car lowered??? If so watch your alignment and cambers setting,
these can wear the inside out fast. I personally set my tires
at 28-30, because the softer the tire the better the grip, and
when you drive the wheels heat up the air in the tires increasing
the pressure by 3-8 pounds... Plus they wont wear as fast..

I have my 205/40/r17 Dunlop FM901's filled to 34-35 psi, and it's pretty good. the are a little hard but that's more from the low profile tire than anything else

I just had an alignment and camber kit done, they were over 2.5 degrees negative camber!! good thing I got the kit installed. I am using 37 front 35 back right now, I might go to stock pressures and see how that works, it seems a little hard right now. the car is lowered 2.75 front/ 2.5 back
