It wasn't swimming... It was walking in the shallow part of the lake. People think he was going to drown it because it was "swimming" but the animal is walking. You can see the guy standing in the water after he falls off the animal.

Yes it was a silly stunt, but jail? Come ON. So far as causing the animal "distress", I'm sure a gut shot with a 338 causes a bit of distress as well. (I only say that as the last moose hunt I was on somebody misjudged their range by a fair bit, or had poor trigger control/press issues, and did precisely this - it roared/moaned in much the same manner as the moose in the video, but ended up slightly worse for wear in the end than this swimming moose).

I was reading comments on the SUN and it's hilarious these ppl that so upset about this stunt. Many good comments here pointing out the irony, ...rodeos, hunting etc. What about horses....aren't they in distress when they are 'broken'?
