City police have arrested a man wanted on warrants in connection with an investigation in which $85,000 worth of stolen property was recovered.

Last month, police charged Colin Ronald Downey, 25, and Troy Wareham, 41, after numerous vehicles, motorcycles, trailers and industrial kitchen appliances were recovered while officers executed search warrants at two northeast homes.

It’s believed the items were stolen from break-and-enters and thefts in and around Calgary.

But officers were unable to locate Downey and subsequently issued warrants for his arrest.

He was arrested without incident on Tuesday in the city’s northeast, and charged with four counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, and one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000.

He was expected to appear in court on Friday, July 17.

Wareham was previously charged in connection with a series of grocery store heists.

I've seen a lot of posts in Calgary about bikes being stolen. Maybe some of you who have lost yours will be getting it back soon!

Maybe it's just because of increased coverage, but it feels like they've been doing a lot more of these busts where shitheads had absolute tons of stolen goods lying around at their homes lately.

What happened, heroin dealers lost their fences?
