I have a family member who has dealt with these types of issues for years but I feel that we are on the brink of severely damaging relationships permanently and I am trying my best to coach the individual to get some counselling.

Has anyone dealt with a similar scenario or have anyone they could recommend for me to contact?

First place to check would be through the "Employee Assistance Program" of your or your family members workplaces. That will cover the first few sessions at least, and hopefully get you on the right track.

Coverage is crucial, private counselling or psychology can be extremely expensive. $200+/hr is not unheard of.

I guess the other thing, is this person willing to attend counselling? If so, it may help if THEY are the ones choosing the provider. Google has a long listing for "anger management counselling calgary". I can also recommend the Family Psychology Place. They work with anyone from Adults to children.

In addition to the one person who seems to be causing these problems, other family members may benefit from some sessions. Depending on the situation, others may be suffering from depression, PTSD or other issues.

The Healthlink people (811) should be able to direct you somewhere. They may have a subsidized counselling service if this person has a lower income.

Can't specifically recommend anyone but there are a few services worth looking into:

These two places offer free single-session walk-in counselling. Would be good for getting an idea of how counselling might help.
Eastside Family Centre: http://www.woodshomes.ca/site/PageNavigator/programs/crisis/programs_eastside.html
South Calgary Health Centre: http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/facilities.asp?pid=saf&rid=1018206

Distress Centre has free counselling for a limited number of sessions. Call 403-266-4357 to inquire or see: http://distresscentre.com/get-help/counselling/

You (or your family member) could also call 211 or AHS Access Mental Health 403-943-1500 http://www.albertahealthservices.ca/services.asp?pid=saf&rid=1019446
