I can't seem to stop buying these fucking Audi's.

Some deets:

Stage 3 Allroad 6-speed Swap

Currently @ 267,000KMs.

Work performed at 250,000km (full stage 3 w/ 6MT swap):
- Rebuilt OEM K04's w/ XSPower inlet kit
- RS4 intercoolers
- RS4 airbox, accordian, and MAF
- EV14 52lb injectors w/ adapters
- Custom NefMoto (Daz Dillenger) stage 3 tune. SAI (removed and blocked off), rear 02 (plugged), and EGT (plugged) deleted
- OEM timing belt kit along with every seal and gasket you can think of
- XSPower bi-pipes w/ meth bungs
- XSPower downpipes
- 2.0t coil conversion
- 034 street density motor and tranny mounts
- OEM 01E 6-speed swap kit (rebuilt 1-2 synchros)
- OEM RS4 clutch kit w/ new pilot bearing
- OEM resurfaced flywheel
- 17Z (rebuilt) front BBK w/ MB C230 sport rotors
- OEM (rebuilt) B5 S4 rear calipers
- 034 300mm rear BBK w/ B7 S4 rotors
- StopTech front and rear SS lines
- Full brake flush and power bleed

Other mods/repairs (@ install milage):
- OEM RNSE w/ BT module (@ 167k)
- OEM (VDO) fuel pump and relay (@ 255k)
- Full Arnott air suspension kit w/ sport shocks and Gen I airbags (@ 219k)
- H-sport front and rear sway bars (@166k)
- Hartman 19" RS6 (5 spoke) replica rims w/ new tires (@ 250k)
- OEM 17" twin spokes w/ Conti ExtremeWinterContact (@ 260k - brand new!)
- Custom cluster face overlay with 'allroad' lettering
- LED tails (@250k)
- a million and one 'little' mods that would take too long to list (monster mats, euro S3 shift knob, Kufatec VIM, etc, etc)

Passenger side turbo is making a tiny bit of noise under full boost, but no smoke. Suspect driveshaft support bearing needs attention as well (humming in 4th gear).

All in all, it's pretty well sorted. A bit of a shimmy when braking, and some minor cabin details need attention, but shes a good runner. Now for a roof top tent...

Hahaha, luckily the P/O did a LOT of work.

I'm going to do WMI and *maybe* rods when the engine gets pulled to rebuild the turbos. I'd like to try and get an honest 400whp out of it.

When funds permit, my garage will house:

RS2
B5 RS4
C5 RS6

Yeah... wagons...

The C5 RS6 Avant was my plan, until we decided to have a kid. My wife is still bugging me to import one, but I just cant justify it, lol.

Nice buy! with all those mods it should be fairly reliable.

Unlike a C5 RS6... Id run away from those.

What's wrong with these? Anyone look into importing one of these Avants?

Importable by 2018.

RS6's are exclusively Auto tranny, and have lots of TQ converter failures. There's some solid rebuild options and it's not as expensive as it used to be, but fairly frequent especially with chipped cars (600ftlbs torque will do that).

01E manual swaps are a reality, but clutch/gearing/drive ability becomes an issue.

RS6's are also maintenance heavy. TB interval is 50,000 KMs, DRC is prone failure, and lots of little sensors can go bad.

But that's life with a 5V per cylinder twin turbo V8. I would still buy one.

Not to mention the engine needs to be removed for items like a spark plug change... (Or so Ive read)

Even oil changes are a little more complicated than average:

That's so much work! I just use an oil extractor and the filter on my S5 is top mounted. I guess it's more of a project car than a maintenance free DD.

What is the point of a roof top tent? So the cheetahs don't get you in banff?

Do AWD Twin turbo V8 super-sedans exist as maintenance free DD?

If you can afford it, why not?
