I randomly found out about this website on Instagram and decided to time the accuracy of my Steinhart Ocean 1.
https://toolwatch.io/

Basically you sync the time on your watch to the website then come back 24 hours later.
I measured my watch twice, and results were around -1.5 seconds a day

I've never used it, but this might be a better way by measuring the frequency of the hairspring with an app.

Thanks to NIST my watch syncs to the Boulder atomic clock every night. It doesn't lose time.

My same reaction.
I was excited since I know my mechanical loses a decent amount of time. Didn't want to make an account.

People new to mechanical watches are fixated on accuracy. I used to time my entire collection to see if they're within COSC spec. You give up after a while. So many things affect accuracy, state of "charge", elevation (gravitational effects). You can spend money and get your watch tweaked to be perfectly accurate, but if you use it differently it's out of spec again.

If you value accuracy, don't touch a mechanical watch haha. But if you are anal about it, I used to use this app:

https://appsto.re/us/1fPRw.i

Uses iPhone mic to listen to the watch and determine accuracy based on that.

cool, didn't know about those IOS apps.
yeah I'm not anal about my mechanical watch, in fact I found it pretty darn accurate comparing to my Iphone whenever I checked the time

You register and login to the website so that you can create a profile for your watch, sync to their time and get reminded to log back in and check the time again.
