Was at Golf Town earlier this summer and saw this. The car is so retro, and so sick, and appears to have an intercooler? Anyone seen this car around or know who owns it? I wonder what's under the hood....

This car has been around town for quite some time. Have spotted it many times in the same area that you did (Shawnessy/Canyon Meadows etc). Gotta love what Koening did in the 80's.

Pretty sure I recall an older gentleman driving it. Not sure if he is the same fellow who has the super baller Hamann kitted E46 m3 that was popular at world of wheels back in the day (purple car on BBS CH's).

I'm not really well versed on BMW's. Anyone have more information on it? Looks wicked and I love the old school performance cars.

Its a younger guy that owns it.. Full retro beside the new Work wheels.. which replaced BBS RS that were impossible to find tires for.

Interesting. I guess it's just the rad down low then. Really sick car though, the fitment of the wheels is perfect. The dish on the rear wheels is crazy, it's like a 6" lip haha.

It looks like an auxiliary cooler based on the height of it. Oil/trans fluid maybe?

Its not an E30 M3, its a 32X with an M3 swap. If I remember correctly it was all built in the 80 by some NFL player.. would have been pretty pimp back in the day.

this is a 325ic convertable
full drivetrain and motor swap from e30 m3
M color stripes are painted on ( not vinyl )
it was made in the late 80's/ early 90's in Miami by a football player that was busted for drugs and it was impounded for 15 years then sold at auction in California. it was then imported into Canada.

they only made a very very small amount of e30 m3 drop tops,
but this is not a legit one.

did the WORK wheels last year with Jimmy @ Vex
18x10 18x12 (et -97 rear)

next plans for the car:
euro front grill
new trunk lid
a snail under the hood....

Which football player? Sammie Smith, the running back from the Dolphins? He was cut from the team in the early 90's and busted for cocaine a few years later.

The German blood is me wants to do bad things with this sexy Bavarian E30. I have seen this before in Marda Loop. One of my favorite local cars by far.
