I dropped my v60i in a puddle and it looks like I need a new cell (Rogers). Rogers offered me a T720 for $40 bucks or a V300 for $200 bucks + I have to extend my contract by another 2 years. Question is: Which phone is the better one and why?

The V300 has more features with the same RF performance as the T720g. The question is.... is the $$$ difference worth the extras you are getting. The big ones being the camera feature and the speakerphone.

If it was me, I would get the T720 for $40 and be away from the contract. Plus you can always do the HUP later when better phones are out like the V400/V600.

I'm pretty sure he meant that either way it extends the contract. I say you are better off just buying a phone privately that way you don't have to extend your contract another 2 years. It will save you alot of cash in the end.

The contract is good since I like my plan and happy with it, no need to cancel it. But I can't find one of these phones cheap used so yah Im getting one of the 2 :) Im thinking of getting the T720 because it's cheaper and I dont need the camera or speakerphone features!

Oops, guess I didnt read that sentence correctly :)

Oh yah, also another thing. The T720g is dual band 850/1900 where the V300 is triband 850/900/1900 ....dunno if that's important to ya.

Doesnt really matter right now It'll be used on Rogers AT&t until I get sick of it, then I'll probably unlock it and send it to my cousin in Lebanon :dunno:

I'm not sure if you'd be able to use the T720 there tho... i believe most of europe/asia is 900/1800 mhz.

and North America is 850/1900...

so, if you're planning on doing that, go with the V300.

Personally, I'd go with the T720 and chuck it after 2 years... and not feel so guilty about the $40.

get a V300, its RF is WAY better than T720.

I was about to cancel my rogers line, and they gave me a V300, and all I can say is... WOW - what a MAJOR improvement... the thing gets mad signal EVERYWHERE!!!!

Yes you can. Lam-boy actually has one. Quad-band. I really don't see why people don't just get the V525 instead of going crazy over the V600. It's pretty much the same damn thing!

Anyways...You could probably pick up a T720 privately for $100-$150 and that way you don't have to be locked into an additional 2 years of contract.

yeah v600 = bleh! i didn't really see paying extra couple hundred for a changable metal face plate, and video play back was worth it.

im sure you can flex/flash the VXXX series into the V600 flex/flash and have video playback too!

bluetooth and Quad-band =

thanks again roopi!

Nice phone, too bad it's got the hardware Vodafone branding. Is the V500 free of the all hardware branding? or is that to be expected from euro phones?

i know thats the only thing i dont like about it..the little vodafone brand. I think V500s can be bought unbranded, the V525s are Vodafones "unique" v500.

Like lam-boy has said the V525 only comes from Vodaphone so it is pretty much impossible getting it unbranded.

I know alot of people use nailpolish remover to get rid of Vodaphone branding but don't hold me liable. :D
