Hey have any of you guys driven the new Accord with the 4cylinder engine? How is it? Slow?

I've driven the 2015 Accord Sedan Touring with the 6-speed. Definitely a comfortable vehicle. Very well equipped for a vehicle in this price range. I definitely dig the heated rear seats.

The power delivery is very similar to a TSX. TSX is okay quick but far from fast. The 6-speed does work well with the 181 lb-ft of torque.

I quite liked the car. It has ample power but it isn't fast by any measure.

What does slow mean to you? What a retarded thread

Decently quick for city driving and comfortable. Honda does make a good 4 cylinder. It's still about 215hp short for being able to pass on the highway though.

Didn't Car and Driver rate the Accord 4 cyl 6MT with a 6.6 0-60mph sprint...? Then again, I'd wait for the 2016 facelift...

I thought maybe the Accord was way too big for the 4 cylinder engine.. Anyways, the wife is set on this car so we are looking now.. Thanks for the feedbacks guys.. lol

i drove the 4 cyl. its not that bad. its not going to win races, but its peppy enough for the grandpa car it is.

I think that's with a 6. The 4 is around 7.8-8.5.

Then again, you are probably looking at reliability on an Accord 4 cycl.

The Sport 4 cyl got 6.6 and the V6 got a mid 5s. Hella quick IMO. Probably with a perfect launch and everything. Engine was probably underrated from the factory too.

It's perfectly adequate for getting around and delivering decent fuel efficiency.

Agreed.

If its the 2.4L K24 engine, its the same engine in the newer TSXs. I average around 8.2-8.5 in the mixed highway and city driving. Remove the resonator and the intake has a nice deep howl with the engine. Definitely makes it sound faster than it is lol.

As everyone else has said, the 6 speed is spirited and peppy; not going to win races, but its still pretty fun especially in the 6 speed hitting those red lines.

I can't speak for the 4 cyl in fuel economy, but if I am getting over 900kms on the V6 on 70l of regular on the highway, and 650+ in the city, you know the 4cyl will be an improvement!
