I recently got quoted $300 to repair a dent on my hood, and passenger door (both dime sized) as well as buff/polish where the door one is because it is a bit scuffed also. As well as a scratch on a rear quarter panel that is under 3m and is being touched up and buffed. He said is could be around $375 if they have to replace the 3m where the scratch is under. Does my quote seem fair? I thought the going rate was $50-75 per dent and they would just be using touch up paint for the scratch. Even taking into consideration polishing the small area seems a bit steep but I am not too knowledgable on this stuff.

Any pics of the project?

Could some of that cost be associated/blended with the wet sand/cut and polish of the scratches too?

Sorry about the reflection I just went outside and snapped a few the sun wasn't at the greatest angle for taking pictures. And it could be yes.

I think, IMO. That $150-175 from the $300 is more associated to fixing (wet sand, cut polish etc) on the scratch more than another. Opinion wise

Ok thanks! I didn't think cut/polish such a small area had such a large cost. But then again I am not experienced with this stuff and don't know all the work that goes into it. Thanks

That totally looks like something a little scratch remover would get rid of. Unless you're driving a show car, the micro scratches that the scratch remover would leave behind is not going to be noticeable. Just put some wax on after and call it a day.

Good idea, the problem is the scratch is under the 3m and when I feel it through the 3m it has some depth to it, so i'm thinking scratch remover might not do the trick

The scratch is under the 3m? How is that possible? You put 3m on after you got the scratch? Thats just bad judgement.

I bought the car used a few weeks ago it's from the previous owner. Maybe they're just not ocd as I am but if it was me I would of fixed that before I put the 3m on because the whole purpose of 3m is to protect from that stuff. I agree with you

Buuuump. Picked up a dent on my hood from who knows what. Any idea what I should expect to have it pulled? Quite small, no body lines or paint damage.

Thanks.
