The other day after reading about the New Mr. Clean Car wash kit on a BMW forum, I decided to go buy it!

As we all know with dark cars, especially black ones you must dry your car immediatley after washing it, or your gonna have hard water stains. So I tried this kit out on my black BMW and long behold I didn't have to dry it and I had no hard water stains. Apperently the filter provided with the nozzle removes all the minerals from the water, so it can be left alone and it will dry without any residue or marks.

I think everyone should try this out, because you will save alot of time drying!

The guys on the Porsche forums have been talking about it for quite some time now. I think I'm gonna give it a shot once the weather gets nice.

The sprayer nozzle hooks up to the garden hose. Ohh I had one side that was exposed to the sun and the other was shadowed and both dried just as well. The sun side, of course was much quicker.

Too bad it a finable offence to wash your car outside of a car wash, because if the detergent soap reaches the sewer system and "IF" you are caught its a hefty fine!!!

Drain in garage floor p0wns. I wonder if it's legal to do it on your lawn - the water will not go in the storm drain...

IF being the big word. I wash the fleet of cars at home every week, about 3 washes a week and I've been doing this for over three years right in my front drive way, no problems. It's not that I don't know, it's just that I don't care.

ok..has anybody actually heard of ANYBODY getting a ticket from a bylaw officer over washing their car at home?? I haven't....its a stupid bullshit thing that is probably never enforced....

What about car dealerships that do dozens of cars a day, right out side, and it drains into the city systems too. Weird. Doubt they really enforce it.

If you're so concerned, then you should look into getting some that are environmentally friendly. We do all our washings on our driveway with a water compressor and we have a big bucket of it. Don't know where my dad got it though.

How much does this cost and is the filter renewable? Like will I have to keep buying new filters later on?

The starter kit cost about $27 at walmart.
It comes with a small soap bottle and a filter which are good for about 3 -5 washes. The filters then cost about $8 and according to Mr. clean people are good for 10-15 washes. A big bottle of soap is about $7

well.... they do enfore it
i've heard of a couple of bylaw tickets being handed out... but its rare
to be caught, its usually that you have to have been ratted out by your neighbour

and car dealerships have wash bays that they can legally wash their cars at.... they dont do it outside in the middle of their lot
