Hey guys,

Looking for one of these locally. Anyone know where may sell something like this. Ideally it will have the openings of the Kallax system from Ikea so I can use their boxes and drawers and such.

Hmm If you buy this kind you can do whatever you want with it, but it definitely won't be as elegant or fit kallax. I use it in my closet under the hang bar to accomodate longer / shorter items.

Expedit in this link but Expedit has been replaced by Kallax

If you want something a bit more customizable, you can use these individual wall shelves from IKEA.

They don't have to be hung on walls and you can attach pieces together with those black paperclips.

Maybe this one?

Oh sweet!!! Didn't even know they had these! Thanks! I think I will make exactly what I want out of these!

Thanks again! Was really not looking forward to the DIY solution where you had to modify an existing shelf, so this will work perfect. There is mention of using drawers and doors on these so I presume it's the same size as the expedit/kallax for interior dimensions.

EQ3 also has boxes in different sizes but they are much more expensive. I think they are called Tobi Mod Boxes. Lots of ideas for different configurations on Pinterest.

Ended up building this myself out of Ikea boxes as recommended by Timmeh. Decided to do something crazy and got different colors for each box :D Cat approves!

At the moment no, but will do it in the future. Thinking of just using short screws and proper depth set drill bit and screw in from covered sides. So far it's all standing together on it's own. The drawer section is pretty heavy as it has some hardcore rails in it, so that won't be going anywhere. I have it all sitting on rubber feet so it's gripping well as is at the moment, and it's right up against the wall too.

Neat, might try to find some.

As for the outlet, the one on the left side is a phone jack, and there is a cable in there which is thin so it doesn't get in the way. I have another jack right behind the shelf as well, but I use one of those super slim power cable things and it doesn't interfere with the shelf at all as there is about a half inch gap on the back of these boxes. They sell these at London Drugs

Looks awesome!

I secured mine together using the big black paper clips (ghetto fix), but I see you put the back pieces in.
