Up for sale is my 2000 Saab Viggen. These cars are extremely rare with only a handful of them making it to Canada. This is one of the best examples you will find as the previous owner had given the car to an ex-Saab mechanic who replaced/repaired anything that needed attention. I have a folder with all receipts for scheduled maintenance and anything that was fixed. With only 137,500km on the car this is a very low mileage vehicle that should last a long time.
The body of the car is in great condition given its age. It has the traditional Calgary-inspired rock chips on the hood and the underside of the bumper is a bit worn (the front ends of these cars sit pretty low and will scrape a bit at times). There is a small ding on the passenger side door that you can see in one of the pictures. The rims were refreshed by the previous owner and are in fantastic shape.
Since I’ve owned the car I haven’t done very much to it. It came with essentially new winter rubber (will be included with the car) so I had a set of Nitto Neo Gen tires put on. I also installed 2 of the most important modifications you can do to the car, the steering rack brace and rear sway bar. These parts not only eliminate most of the torque steer but also improve steering and response from the car.
The Viggen is a lot of fun to drive! It gets decent fuel economy (I average 8-9L/100km per tank) and is quite comfortable. The turbocharged 2.3L engine has 230hp and 260ft/lbs of torque which is plenty although it’s easy enough to get more if you decide you want it.
I’m selling because I am looking for a summer toy that I can park in my garage and stare at all winter haha. If you have something that has 2 doors, RWD, and lots of power let me know and maybe we can work something out!
I bought this car in May for $8100. With the tires and mods I’ve spent an additional $1200 or so and have driven approximately 5,000km since owning it. With that being said I’m looking to get $8000 obo. Feel free to ask any questions you’d like and I’ll try to answer them as best as I can! Come and take it for a test drive if you’d like, it really is a great car and I hope it can go to a good home.
